Ukraine feels ‘betrayal’ from international partners as giving up territory is ‘not an option’, Kyiv mayor says
Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko greeted me with a strong handshake and a big smile but his message to international partners was stern. The big question on many people's lips right now is how is this war going to end? The eastern Donbas is now home to the biggest battle in Europe for generations. With Luhansk falling to Russian control in recent days, there's a sense of scepticism over Ukraine 's defiant calls that it will somehow claw back this lost ground in the region. Kremlin could 'force businesses to supply army' - Ukraine live updates Advertisement I asked Mr Klitschko if there was any pressure from international partners to do a deal with Russia - to give Moscow the industrialised Donbas in exchange for peace in Ukraine? "I am sometimes upset if I listen to these messages from our partners. It's the same message that tells the Russian Federation, "okay, we're ready to find a compromise, let's find a solution". HIMAR system: The new US weapon being used by Ukraine against Russian targets
Increasing number of pictures are appearing on Ukrainian social media showing a US-made rocket launcher being used against Russian targets. At the start of June, the US Department of Defence said it would be sending four HIMAR systems to Ukraine to help the country defend itself from attack. It said Ukrainian soldiers would be trained on it first, which would take about three weeks. In the last few days, there have been a number of social media posts from Ukrainian military sources that have showed the HIMARS in action in the country, reportedly targeting forces from Russia . One shows vehicles travelling along a road purportedly in southern-eastern Zaporizhzhia region and then the system in use, launching a volley of missiles into a twilit night, was put out by the official account of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Psychiatry and the War
by BRIG. GEN. WILLIAM C. MENNINGER, USA MILITARY psychiatry differs from civilian psychiatry in that the Army must be totally responsible for a man — not only for his food and clothing, but especially for his ability to participate in his particular mission. Consequently, when a man did not fulfill his function, the Army had to find the cause and, if possible, remedy it. In many instances the cause lay in his personality and in his emotional difficulties. Since there is a human tendency to retreat into illness under stress, it was not surprising to find that many men became ill when they were unable to meet the demands of the new life. Military psychiatry differs also in quality from civilian psychiatry. In the Army much more effort and time are invested in a preventive psychiatryan attempt to keep men healthy and to seek out causes for poor morale. Until comparatively recently, the majority of civilian psychiatric patients had to be brought to the psychiatrist by relatives, … [Read more...] about Psychiatry and the War

The Pentagon has spent about $3.8 million on balloon-related military projects in the past two years, but plans to increase that to about $27.1 million in fiscal year 2023, … [Read more...] about Pentagon Pumping Millions Into High-Altitude Balloon Research | The Daily Wire
