Mick Jagger doesn’t agree with people comparing him to fellow recording artist Harry Styles. The comparisons between the 78-year-old Rolling Stones band member and the 28-year-old One Direction artist happen partially because of how both men sometimes wear dresses and makeup. Jagger told The Sunday Times that he has an “easy relationship” with Styles and likes him as a person but disagrees that Styles commands the same stage presence. “I mean, I used to wear a lot more eye make-up than him,” Jagger said, “… Come on, I was much more androgynous.” The U.K.-based singer added, “He doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that.” Styles is a big fan of Jagger and has been linked to him throughout his career, People reported . The One Direction singer mimicked some of Jagger’s outfits for music videos and even did an impression of the Stones legend for an … [Read more...] about Mick Jagger Denies Harry Styles Comparisons, Says It’s A ‘Superficial Resemblance’ And He’s More ‘Androgynous’ | The Daily Wire

Death could be reversible, as scientists bring dead eyes back to life
Dead eyes from organ donors have been “brought back to life” in a breakthrough which hints that brain death may be reversible. Scientists in the US proved that photosensitive neuron cells in the retina can still respond to light and communicate with each other up to five hours after death, sending signals “resembling those recorded from living subjects”. Crucially these neurons form part of the central nervous system (CNS), which encompasses the brain and spinal cord, bringing the possibility that other cells in the CNS could be similarly restored, perhaps bringing back consciousness . Writing in the journal Nature, the authors said that the study “raises the question of whether brain death, as it is currently defined, is truly irreversible”. Cells responded to different types of light Lead author Dr Fatima Abbas, of the Moran Eye Centre at the University of Utah, said: “We were able to wake up photoreceptor cells in the human macula, which is the part of the retina … [Read more...] about Death could be reversible, as scientists bring dead eyes back to life

Nurse with ‘vanished breasts’ and saggy skin after 7 stone weight loss issues plea
A student nurse who lost an incredible 7st 10lb in just 10 months says she has been left “feeling devastated” by her folds of saggy skin and “vanished” breasts. Fiona Macdonald, 30, took out a loan to pay for her £5,400 gastric bypass surgery in July 2021 after a lifetime of battling with her weight. And while she remains over the moon with her new look - going from a 17st 7lb dress size 20 to 10st 11lb size 10 - she has spoken frankly of the downsides. The mum has seen her bust shrink from a buxom 40D to a wilted 30A and has swathes of sagging skin on her stomach that she says rub and smell. Fiona lives in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, with her husband, timber fabricator Andrew Macdonald, 30, and their children, Harris, six, and Marnie, four.
