A father-of three has been barred from ever owning a dog after the bulldog he owned attacked a police officer who was trying to assist him. Bodeane Rostron had been lying in the road on September 18 2021 when he was spotted by officer Michelle Murphy, who got out of her van to assist him as she believed he was injured. However, PC Murphy soon realised that Rostron was drunk and as a result was not able to keep control over his two dogs , the Manchester Evening News reported. While trying to help Rostron, the larger dog, called Bo-Bo, attacked PC Murphy, gripping her left leg in its teeth and violently shaking, pulling her to the ground. Despite her screams for help Rostron made no attempt to regain control of the dog, barrister Andrew Molloy told Bolton Crown Court. The Bank of England has warned the UK is already likely to be in recession , as it continues to raise interest rates to get a hold of soaring inflation. Economists now believe gross domestic product (GDP) - a measure of the size and health of the economy - will fall by 0.1% between July and September. A recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of growth - so six months - with the economy having already shrunk by 0.1% from April to June. So what exactly is happening right now? Analysts think house prices could drop because would-be homebuyers struggle to afford property due to higher interest rates, rising inflation and the risk of recession. This week mortgage lenders began pulling deals , with around 3,000 removed from sale. Others are hiking rates. House sales are also starting to fall through as lenders pull mortgage offers in reaction to the mini-Budget . Defaqto consumer banking expert Katie Brain said: " Within the space of a week we have seen some dramatic changes within the mortgage market. Britain's most and least reliable cars have been revealed in a new survey, with Lexus being named the most dependable. The 2022 What Car? Reliability Survey, held in association with MotorEasy, asked car owners for feedback on 248 different models and 32 brands. Four models - the current versions of the Hyundai Tucson and Mini Convertible, the used-only Kia Soul (2014-2019) and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (2017-2021) - achieved a perfect 100% score. At brand level, Lexus was named as the most dependable with an overall score of 98.4%, followed by Toyota on 97.2%. Out of the 10 highest scoring models, five belong to those two brands. Mortgage costs could surge to a 30-year-high if the Bank of England raises interest rates to as high as 6%, experts have warned. In just six days, 1,621 products have been pulled from sale, after a fall in the pound fuelled fears for the economy. On Tuesday, the Bank of England's chief economist said that action would have to be taken - meaning interest rates could rise sharply. Economists now expect rates to more than double to 5.8% by April, from the current level of 2.25%. Interest rates had previously been forecast to hit 4% by next May.
