A Mexican restaurant chain has been forced to temporarily close 43 of its restaurants after an outbreak of E. coli . Health authorities are investigating after eight people were rushed to hospital after eating at the Chipolte restaurant chain in Washington an Oregon. So far there have been 19 cases of illness related to the bacteria in Washington and three cases in Oregon. As yet no one has died. "There have been links made to six restaurants in the Seattle and Portland areas," Chris Arnold, the communications director for Chipotle, told the New York Times. The UK should prepare for a "difficult autumn" due to the threat of new coronavirus variants emerging and a potential surge in other respiratory viruses, a senior health official has warned. Dr Susan Hopkins, Public Health England's strategic response director for COVID-19 , said the population may have less immunity to respiratory viruses such as flu due to the coronavirus pandemic. She told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show that it was "highly unlikely" that a new COVID variant would derail the plan to start easing England's lockdown "for the next three to five weeks". A Nando's customer has left people horrified after ordering a chicken burger with 50 additional slices of cheese. The restaurant allows people to customise their meals when ordering through an app for home delivery and one worker shared the enormous receipt of the bizarre request which had come through. It shows a grilled chicken burger with 50 cheddar cheese slices (with each adding 60p to the bill), as well as garlic peri peri sauce and 10 chicken wings, Daily Star reports. Images posted on Reddit and captioned: "Someone ordered a burger in Nando's with 50 slices of cheese" show a bun piled up high with the chicken, lettuce and sauce all separated by a sizeable pile of cheese. Not everyone was impressed, as one person commented to say: "That is obscene" and another wrote: "Cheesus christ that’s a hefty amount of cheddar."
