This was another of those Marcelo Bielsa masterclasses for the purists, a perfect demonstration of a team entirely committed to a philosophy. Leeds United’s strategy in the Premier League is the ultimate risk versus reward, and this victory was Bielsa’s vision in high definition, as Leicester’s unbeaten start to the year ended. Bielsa has transformed players such as Patrick Bamford, who was outstanding here, and when they perform like this it seems a trick of the mind that they were operating in the Championship last season. Bamford was involved in the three goals, also scoring his 11th of the campaign with a brilliant finish, as Leeds secured one of their finest results in this most chaotic and capricious of seasons.
