MONEY saving expert Martin Lewis has gone head-to-head with Chancellor Rishi Sunak over his Budget. Income tax freeze - how it will affect low earners As part of his Budget yesterday, Mr Sunak said the tax-free personal allowance - the amount you can earn before paying tax will be frozen for five years. The rate will rise as planned from April 2021 but then stay at that threshold until April 2026. For basic rate taxpayers, the threshold will be held at £12,570 and £50,270 for higher rate tax payers. Martin pointed out to the Chancellor that this will affect basic rate taxpayers - anyone earning below £50,000 - as they will start to pay more tax. Danniella Westbrook has made a worrying post on Instagram saying she "needs time to breathe". The former EastEnders star, 47, took to her Instagram account on Friday morning to share a statement from her management, which said she was going to "better herself mentally and physically". Her post comes after she had a very public spat with her ex-boyfriend Brian Harvey , accusing him of being on cocaine, which he strenuously denied. In her post this week, Danniella asked for privacy and said she would keep her fans updated. The statement from her manager read: "On behalf of Danniella's management we have recommended Danniella only keeps contact with close friends and family. Pub chain Wetherspoons has confirmed plans to reopen outlets across the UK next month, as Boris Johnson lifts restrictions on hospitality businesses with outdoor areas. The company, run by Tim Martin, said almost 400 branches with beer gardens and outdoor seating will return to business on April 12, serving alcohol through the app and a limited food menu . JD Wetherspoon bosses shuttered pubs in January as a result of lockdown restrictions in England, but the company now hopes to reopen all 875 outlets by May 17. Chief executive John Hutson said: "We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs." From April 12, around 394 branches will reopen from 9am until 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and from 9am until 10pm on Friday to Saturday. Wetherspoons customers will be able to pay through the free app, although staff members will still be on hand to take orders and payment at tables.
