Meghan Markle's father Thomas told reporters that he had dramatically hung up on Prince Harry during a heated phone discussion about the press. On Saturday night, the Duchess of Sussex's father, 74, told the Mail on Sunday that he lied to the newlyweds over the phone about staging a series of photos for the paparazzi while he was in hospital recovering from a heart attack. The newest season of Britain's Celebrity Big Brother, which airs on Channel 5, is entitled "The Eye of the Storm" and will gather a group of celebrities who are enmeshed in their own media controversies, including Markle, 53, the estranged half-sister of the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan Markle's public family drama has a new character, Frederick Markle, the Duchess of Sussex's uncle, and brother of her father Thomas Markle. On Thursday, The Daily Mail released a newly unearthed photo of Frederick, who it said is a self-proclaimed Catholic bishop, dressed in an extravagant golden religious costume. The photo was believed to have been taken in the early 1980s, during a time when Frederick's Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church had at least 40 members. Last year, The Mail revealed that Frederick is head of a Catholic church at the edge of Sanford, Florida. In an email conversation between The Domenick Nati Show and Samantha, obtained by Newsweek , the duchess's sister wanted $1,500 for a phone interview that would be played on the radio. "I would do it for you for 1500," she wrote on Thursday, noting that her minimum is usually "much higher." "But I would only do it if I'm not being set up by a shock jock who wants to be rude and slam the phone down because I worked in radio I am good with comebacks so I don't want to embarrass the host," Samantha added. Meghan Markle will visit the United States to see her friends and family without Prince Harry. Us Weekly reported that Markle's trip would take place before the couple undertook a royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, planned for October. This would coincide with the Invictus Games, the Paralympic-style competition for military veterans which was founded by the prince and is due to be held in Sydney from October 20 through October 27. The couple are said to be keen to go the United States together next year, so that Meghan can introduce Harry to "everything she loves about the U.S," and as a way to highlight and strengthen ties between the countries.
