When a football legend such as the late, great Bob Paisley reserves special praise for you, it’s fair to say you’ve made an impact in the beautiful game. The plaudits in question came from the legendary Liverpool manager for Paul Walsh, who Paisley’s pal and Reds boss at the time Joe Fagan signed from Luton Town in 1984 for £700,000. For the record, Paisley said of the fleet-footed winger: "Walsh can play teams on his own some days. When he's buzzing and bubbling he whizzes around the field like a cartoon character with the ball tied to his boot. It's like watching a film that's running too fast. You want to slow it down in order to appreciate all the tricks he's getting up to. He might beat a defender on the outside, then turn back and go inside him and then beat him once again for luck." England forward Sterling set up the opening goal for David Silva and tapped in the second from Sane’s cross. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been dropped to the bench for Liverpool's Premier League crunch match with Manchester City at Anfield. The England full-back has been ever-present for the Reds so far this season, but loses his place in the team to the returning Dejan Lovren. Lovren has only made one appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side this campaign since recovering from injury, in the Carabao Cup defeat to Chelsea. Six weeks after the Anfield attack on the Manchester City team bus, Merseyside Police have made no arrests in connection with the incident. The Blues' team bus was subjected to a barrage of bottles, bricks and pyrotechnics as it approached the ground, ahead of the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool on April 4. The coach was damaged to the extent that another one had to be brought into ferry the players home after the match. Liverpool FC vowed to do all in their power, in conjunction with the police, to bring the culprits to justice. And Merseyside Police said they would be reviewing CCTV and bodycam footage to try to identify anyone throwing objects. They also appealed for the public to to send them footage, especially of anyone throwing objects at the bus. Two police officers were injured in the incident, suffering cuts and swelling after being struck by objects hurled by fans. Ederson has committed himself to Manchester City for the next seven years, the Premier League champions have announced. The Brazilian goalkeeper, who joined City on a six-year deal last summer, has signed a two-year extension at the Etihad Stadium to take his contract to 2025. The 24-year-old has made a big impression since his £35million arrival from Benfica, featuring in all but the last two games of their triumphant Premier League campaign.
