Manchester City won the Premier League by a mammoth 19 points from second-placed United this season but you can bet Pep Guardiola won't be resting on his laurels next term. The Blues may have finished the campaign with two trophies but they fell short in the Champions League, losing 5-1 on aggregate to Liverpool in the quarter-finals. Guardiola's primary focus will be on retaining the title but he will also want to go much further in Europe's primary club competition, having not won the tournament as a manager since Barcelona's Wembley success of 2011. Napoli's Jorginho is expected to arrive in the next few weeks, while Guardiola is reportedly interested in signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea. But there are likely to be some outgoings too. LIVERPOOL are trying to convince Gianluigi Buffon to move to Anfield but face competition from Manchester City. The Reds have struggled at goalkeeper for several seasons and current No1 Loris Karius is far from secure. Buffon today announced he could shelve his retirement plans after receiving some interesting offers. He said: "Up until 15 days ago, it was certain and well-known that I would stop playing. Manchester City welcome relegation-threatened Huddersfield to the Etihad this afternoon for their penultimate home game of the season. Two goals and a victory over will see City set a new Premier League points total and a new single-season scoring record. Two more wins from their final three matches would also leave Pep Guardiola's imperious City with the most wins in a Premier League campaign. City have already blasted 102 league goals this term, with Chelsea boasting the record of 103 from their 2009/10 campaign. Chelsea also currently hold the record of 95 points in a single season.
