MANCHESTER CITY are prepared to offer Ilkay Gundogan to Juventus in exchange for Arthur, according to reports. Gundogan has just one year remaining on his deal at the Premier League champions and he is yet to agree a new contract. Therefore City are considering offloading him while they are still able to get something in return and have their sights set on Juventus midfielder Arthur, according to reports in Italy. A player-swap deal has been proposed with Juve keen to sign a new central midfielder this summer after Paul Pogba picked up a long-term injury. Additionally, Aaron Ramsey has left the club and joined Nice. Arthur, 25, signed from Barcelona in an eye-watering £68million deal back in 2020. Arteta mind games revealed after he told Arsenal squad Man City tried to ‘HUMILIATE’ you and Brentford think you’re SOFT
MIKEL ARTETA fired up his Arsenal players by telling them Manchester City tried to 'humiliate you' and Brentford reckon you are softies. The Gunners boss exploited taunts from rival players in a string of extreme measures to motivate his squad last term. The Spaniard warned his stars Wolves would try "insulting" them. And Arteta threw in Pep Guardiola 's tactics for City, as well as the mocking words of Brentford striker Ivan Toney. Amazon Prime's All or Nothing series captured those searing speeches, including a Zoom talk to the Emirates on New Year's Day when he was at home with Covid. Animated and agitated, the ex-City No2 recalled City's earlier 5-0 win when they went for blood at 2-0 up after Granit Xhaka was sent off. Pep Guardiola hints at signing new Man City contract after going into final year… but fears Bernardo Silva may quit
PEP GUARDIOLA has dropped a strong hint he will extend his stay at Manchester City – if the club still want him. The former Barcelona manager is entering the final 12 months of his existing deal and says he has already had preliminary talks with the club over an extension. He plans to speak again during the middle of the season and after six glittering years at the Etihad he could be tempted to put pen to paper on another contract. Guardiola said: “I wouldn’t change my life here one second. It’s the seventh season already. “We spoke with the club. Middle of the season, end of the season, we will talk again about how we feel and decide what’s best for the club. “I said many times if they want it, I’d like to stay longer but at the same time I have to be sure. Man Utd transfer news – striker odds: Bookies reveal top SEVEN most likely alternatives after Arnautovic deal is axed
BETFAIR have compiled a list of the top SEVEN most likely striker targets for Manchester United after their pursuit for Marko Arnautovic broke down. United had a £7.6million bid rejected for the Bologna forward and talks have now ended between the two clubs. Betfair: Bet £10 Get £30* Cristiano Ronaldo was left out the starting line-up for Sunday's dismal display in the defeat to Brighton, despite Anthony Martial being out injured. Ronaldo failed to make a mark in the game when subbed on and his absence highlighted a striker crisis at the club. Betfair make Ivan Toney the 6/1 favourite to be the forward the Old Trafford side turn to next to help bolster the attacking line. The Brentford striker was slapped with a £40million price tag by the Bees earlier in the window when Newcastle were reported to be circling. Toney scored 12 times and registered five assists in his maiden Premier League term last year and played 33 times for the Londoners. He joined … [Read more...] about Man Utd transfer news – striker odds: Bookies reveal top SEVEN most likely alternatives after Arnautovic deal is axed
Youri Tielemans next club – latest odds: Arsenal ODDS-ON favourites to sign Leicester star, Man Utd in the mix
ARSENAL remain the odds-on favourites in the race to sign Leicester's midfield star Youri Tielemans. Sky Bet go 5/6 the Belgian quits the Foxes for the Emirates Stadium with talks understood to be continuing between the clubs. SKY BET - GET £30 FREE BETS* The central midfielder has just a year remaining on his contract at the King Power stadium, and it seems the Belgian is unlikely to want to sign a new deal with the Foxes. This may force the club into selling him this summer, rather than letting him depart for free next year. Tielemans has spent the last three and a half years at Leicester, after initially signing on loan from Monaco, before making the move permanent in the summer of 2019 for a club-record £41m fee. The 25-year-old has made 159 appearances for the club, and is perhaps most fondly remembered by fans for scoring the winning goal in the 2021 FA Cup final, the club's first time lifting the trophy in their history.
