THE Queen’s ‘favourite grandchild’ Lady Louise Windsor made a rare appearance in public today for a horse riding event. The 15-year-old was accompanied by her mother, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 54, as the pair visited Burghley House in Stamford for the Burghley Horse Trials. Lady Louise, who turns 16 in November, was spotted having fun at the trial today, taking time to pose inside a Red Arrow plane at the event. She and her mum chatted away in the grandstand, with both women wrapped up for autumn, with Lady Louise pairing a pair of jeans with a floral blouse, blazer and boots. Yemen: Children make up a quarter of civilian casualties
For the last three years children have made-up one quarter of civilian casualties in Yemen's grinding war, said child relief agency Save the Children . "Yemeni children have been living through a horrific and endless nightmare for six years now. Children continue to be killed and injured on a near-daily basis," said the organization's Yemen country director, Xavier Joubert. More than 2,300 children have been caught in the crossfire between the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels and the internationally recognized government from 2018 to 2020. However, the agency said that the real toll was likely much higher. Man, 54, arrested on suspicion of murder after woman in 80s found dead in bath
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 80s was found dead in a bath. The victim was found "unconscious and not breathing" in the bath inside an address in Rushden Gardens, Ilford, on Friday morning. Despite efforts from emergency services, the pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene. A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into police custody, where he remains. "The woman and the man are known to each other," a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said. A post-mortem is due to take place in due course and the woman's family have been informed, the force said. The incident is being investigated by the Met's specialist crime team. In video footage posted on social media on Friday morning, several police vehicles can be seen parked outside the property in Rushden Gardens.
