Kai Bickle's world came tumbling down one night in May 2019, when he attended a dinner party at a lavishly decorated mansion overlooking the golden sands of Venice Beach in Los Angeles. Their study, which was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, estimated that this could prevent 183,000 cases of type 2 diabetes over the course of 20 years.
