Prince Philip likely wanted son Charles to visit him in hospital to discuss the future of the Royal Family, according to an ex-Palace official. The Queen's former press officer Dickie Arbiter said the visit at London's private King Edward VII Hospital last Saturday would have been at Philip's "request". Speaking on True Royalty TV's weekly The Royal Beat programme earlier today, Mr Arbiter said the Duke of Edinburgh will have been looking to the future when he is no longer around. "He was just saying to Charles, 'one day you are going to be the leading man of the family'," he continued. Mr Arbiter, 81, served the Queen from 1988 until 2000. Prince Harry says he ‘never walked away from royal family’ but ‘needed to get family out’
Prince Harry has spoken honestly about his decision to quit the royal family with Meghan Markle , saying he "needed to get his family out of there". However he insists he's never walked away from his duties, saying he simply "stepped back". He gave the interview during an open top bus tour around LA with James Corden for The Late Late Show. He said: "My life is always going to be about public service and Meghan signed up for that. Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard were in stitches on Good Morning Britain on Friday, over some fun clips of Prince Harry with TV host James Corden. Prince Harry appeared in an interview with James over in LA, with his wife Meghan Markle also making an appearance via video call. It was during this exchange, that Meghan confirmed her nickname for her husband. Meghan calls the prince Haz, short for his name, and she did this during the televised interview. Host James was heard repeating: "Haz? I didn't know we were calling you Haz now," with Harry quipping back: "No, well you're not my wife, so..." Shoppers are paying up to 180 per cent more for vegan food than for the equivalent meat-based product, research has found. Four in five vegan goods cost more than their meat versions, according to a study commissioned by sports insurance brand Insure4Sport. It was noted that Marks & Spencer's £2.25 Plant Kitchen 'No Pork' sausage rolls were £1.45 more expensive than their 80p meat alternative - both of which weighed 120g. Meanwhile, Waitrose's £3.75 Vegan Chilli with Soya Mince and Rice, which weighs 400g, costs £1 more than its 450g meat counterpart. Many ingredients in the vegan products are more affordable, but the price can be driven up by development methods such as blending stages and heat processing. Nigeria: Gunmen release 27 teenage boys who were kidnapped from boarding school
Pupils kidnapped from a boarding school in Nigeria alongside members of their family and teachers have been released, an official has confirmed. All 42 people, including 27 teenage boys, 12 of their relatives and three staff members were freed on Saturday by gunmen who had been holding them hostage since 17 February. Niger state governor Abubakar Sani Bello tweeted to say they had "regained their freedom and been received by the Niger state government". After their release, boys were seen by a witness walking with armed security through a village, some struggling to stand and asking for water. A government official said the boys were aged between 15 and 18.
