Huge 64 stone mega shark caught by fishermen on tiny boat after 45-minute struggle

· March 1, 2021 ·

A massive 900lbs tiger shark has been killed by fishermen on a tiny boat off the coast of Sydney after a 45-minute struggle. Captain Paul Barning and the crew of the Dark Horse reeled the big fish on board before taking it to be weighed in at a nearby port. Shocking images provided to the Daily Mail show one of the fishermen holding onto the shark’s fin as it hangs off the end of the boat. The creature barely fit onto the deck as it was taken to shore after a 45-minute battle during which the fishermen hauled it on board. Tiger sharks can grow up to 7.62 metres long and sometimes weigh more than 800kgs. They are known to move down Australia’s east coast during the warmer months, following food as it moved with the current. Game fishers in New South Wales are having one of their best seasons in 30 years, but show off their catches less online due to growing criticism about the sport. Eight men - aged between 17 and 60 - have been killed by sharks while in the … [Read more...] about Huge 64 stone mega shark caught by fishermen on tiny boat after 45-minute struggle

MARINES are taking on sabotage raids and spying to help ease pressure on the SAS and SBS. It is part of an overhaul of the Marines into a Future Commando Force. The move saves top-trained troops for key missions, said Colonel Simon Rogers of the Navy’s Special Ops Cell . He said: “Special Operations is not now just the preserve of special forces. “Commando forces are being developed, allowing us to save the highest end troops for the most demanding operations.” Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd said more ships would be based further East for a shooting war if necessary. He said: “We’re putting the vim back in the commandos to cause mayhem behind enemy lines. “We are building a Navy to be out on the block, out on the beat, in an era of persistent competition. “When deterrence fails we can go to a shooting war very quickly indeed.” Most read in News viral load Fears Brazil strain could DELAY lifting lockdown as it may evade antibodies … [Read more...] about Royal Marines take on sabotage raids and spying to help ease pressure on SAS and SBS

‘Disgusting’ bloke uses filthy train seat as a dining table while sitting cross-legged on floor

· March 1, 2021 ·

THIS is the stomach-churning moment a "disgusting" bloke uses a filthy train seat as a dining table while sitting cross-legged on the floor. The sickening photo shows a man sitting on the floor as he digs in his takeaway meal while travelling on a service in Perth. The passenger, dressed in jeans and a dark T-shirt, was spotted using the train seat as a table and a plate as he casually continued scrolling on his phone. The disgusting image was posted on Facebook by The Bell Tower Times, on Monday. The caption reads "Improvise, adapt, overcome. Don't miss out on all those seat flavours". Facebook users were shocked someone would choose to eat their meal off a train seat. "And when he's finished he can choose any flavour chewy from under the seat," one user said. "Yum yum the taste of a**," another one said. One Facebook user said "Gotta love some eggs, bacon and bodily fluids in the morning." A comment reads "Nothing like a bit of butt salt as seasoning!" while … [Read more...] about ‘Disgusting’ bloke uses filthy train seat as a dining table while sitting cross-legged on floor

Banksy loses battle with card firm to keep trademark for his famous Flower Thrower piece

· September 17, 2020 ·

BANKSY yesterday lost a battle with a small greetings card firm to keep his trademark for his famous Flower Thrower work. The anonymous street artist - whose work sells for millions - became entangled in a dispute with Full Colour Black over its use of the piece on a £2.99 card. Banksy last year accused the North Yorkshire-based company, which has just three employees, of trying to “take custody” of his name to sell “fake merchandise” of his work. He said it sparked him into opening his own store in Croydon, South London, and he trademarked the work. But in a ruling yesterday, the European Union Intellectual Property Office sided with lawyers acting for Full Colour Black who asked for the trademark to be cancelled. They successfully argued that Banksy - who once said “copyright is for losers” - had acted in “bad faith”, abusing the law by taking out the trademark. Lawyers also said anyone could simply have photographed the image and used it because it was graffiti … [Read more...] about Banksy loses battle with card firm to keep trademark for his famous Flower Thrower piece

‘The four stages of exercise you need to know to help get your fitness back after Covid’

· March 1, 2021 ·

One of my sons has had a nasty bout of Covid and recovery is slow. He’s eager, however, to get some exercise even if it’s only taking the dog for a short walk. Even that exhausts him and I imagine there are many people recovering from the virus who are in the same boat. So how should they and my son go about getting back to their pre-Covid fitness level? Well, David Salman and colleagues from Imperial College London, Hull-York Medical School and the Army Medical Service provide useful steers in the BMJ with a safe four-phase return. We now know that about one in five people recovering from Covid remain unwell for six weeks or more and they can find trying to return to exercise an uphill struggle. The priority is to start exercising safely – and may mean going more slowly than you’d like, not pushing yourself to achieve old goals and stopping if tiredness overwhelms you. Only think about resuming exercise after at least seven days without symptoms, and the first two … [Read more...] about ‘The four stages of exercise you need to know to help get your fitness back after Covid’
