Donna Robinson and Amanda Davies joined Slimming World in August last year, after deciding they wanted to lose weight for a family wedding. Since then Donna, 35, has gone from 18 stone 4lbs to 12 stone – a loss of 6 stone and 4lbs, dropping from a size 24 to a size 12 in the process, Amanda, 33, has lost almost 5 stone and has also had to update her wardrobe. Her new clothes are a size 12, with her previous size-20 garments recently donated to charity. The amount of combined weight the pair have shed is equal roughly to the average weight of a woman in the UK. Amazing Derby mum loses more than five stone to beat diabetes
An inspirational Derby mum has lost more than five stone in less than a year to help her to beat diabetes. Turning 50 gave Debbie Seeley, from Chaddesden, the motivation needed to do something about her health and weight. She also wanted to make her 18-year-old son Jack proud and losing her parents made her want to live a healthier life. Debbie was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2008 and prescribed medication in November 2017 when her weight was approaching 20 stone. But, thanks to a drastic diet and lifestyle change, the 50-year-old has since managed to lose enough weight to be taken off her medication completely. She said: "I beat my diabetes by losing weight. "In October last year they halved my dosage and I was taken off my medication completely at Christmas. I was just told I will still have my yearly check-ups. "There is a chance of it coming back, as it can flare up again. But, I’m just happy to be off the medication." Mum, 32, says weight loss ‘CURED’ her asthma after ditching takeaways and losing seven stone
A MUM who lost an incredible seven stone says that her dramatic weight loss has helped to "cure" her asthma. Gemma King, 31, had piled on the pounds after constantly eating greasy takeaways and high calorie frozen foods for lunch and dinner. At her heaviest, the mum-of-one, from Haverhill, Suffolk, weighed 18st 7lbs and was struggling to fit into a size 22. Despite trying every diet going, her growing weight was stopping Gemma from being able to play with her son and making her asthma worse. But it was only after seeing an unflattering photo of herself on Facebook of her bulging out of a dress at the beach that Gemma, a healthcare assistant, decided enough was enough.
