Millions of pounds of unpaid council tax and business rates are being lost because of staff shortages at Salford town hall, unions claim. They also claim that up to 1,000 phone calls a day are being abandoned at the council's customer service contact centre. Unison say there is currently a backlog of 9,000 council tax documents for discounts, exemptions, change of occupier, and 200 court cases are outstanding where action is required. Their victims included a petrified 15-year-old girl who got out of a bath wearing just a towel only to be confronted by Foat in a hallway. Foat, of Jerningham Road, Walton, appeared in handcuffs in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court after threatening to take a security guard hostage. Meanwhile, Constantine, of Sandy Road, Seaforth, was told to stop yawning and eyeballing a court usher by Judge Gary Woodhall. Foat was released from … [Read more...] about The cocky crim who boasted he carried out 600 burglaries in a month

But what if you hate exercise? According to nutritional therapist Petronella Ravenshear, no: "Contrary to the popular notion that we need to exercise to lose weight it’s simply not true." Plenty of studies have backed up Ravenshear’s opinion. Last year, a study published in Current Biology found that while exercise is important for your overall health, it shouldn’t be the only focus for weight loss. In fact, tweaking your diet can be more beneficial to not only losing the weight, but keeping it off. Generally, weight loss is 75 per cent diet and 25 percent exercise. That’s not to say you have to radically switch up what you eat overnight. “Cutting down on carbohydrates and drinking lots of water, which will take the edge off hunger and … [Read more...] about Can you lose weight without exercise?
