Abandoned Alaska child, 5, carries a 1-year-old toddler HALF-A-MILE to a neighbor’s home in temperatures of 31 degrees below zero wearing only socks and light clothes after they became scared when the power went out
A 5-year-old child left unsupervised in a remote Alaskan village carried a toddler half-a-mile to a neighbor's home through sub-zero temperatures in only socks and light clothes after their power went out, authorities said Friday. The Alaska State Troopers said in a press release that the child and a one-year-old toddler were left alone inside a home in Venetie, Alaska, on Tuesday. The older child was frightened when the power suddenly went out at the home and, not having an adult nearby to consult, decided to brave temperatures that dipped to -31 degrees and walk with the younger child to a neighbor's home.
