The group's army of loyal fans took to social media accuse the station's Matthias Matuschik of racism after he blasted the band's cover of Coldplay's "Fix You." A hunt continues for a person in the UK infected with a coronavirus "variant of concern" from Brazil, with the government accused of "unforgivable incompetence" in managing Britain's borders. The COVID-19 variant, first seen in the city of Manaus, is feared to spread more rapidly than the original virus and could be more capable of evading existing vaccines. Three cases of the P.1 coronavirus variant have been confirmed in England and three in Scotland, Public Health England said. An urgent search was launched to find one of the six as officials have no idea who they are or where they live. That's because that person didn't fill in their test registration card. The P.1 variant is one of four variants of concern, and measures were brought in to prevent it from being brought into the country. Health officials are hunting for a person in the UK who is infected with a worrying Brazil variant of Covid-19 in a bid to stop it spreading into the wider community. There are also concerns that the mutation, first identified in Manaus, can re-infect people who have previously had Covid, and that it has the ability to lessen the impact of vaccines. Dr Susan Hopkins, strategic response director at Public Health England (PHE), said the person was thought to have been tested on February 12 or 13, possibly via a home postal test or a test collected from a local authority. She said the individual may not have completed their form completely online, or may have thought they did, and may not have got their results.
