Final Fantasty XIV (FFXIV) Patch 6.2 finally has a release date, as revealed during the FFXIV Live Letter 72. In addition to a grandiose trailer that showcases what to expect from the patch, named Buried Memory, players got a sneak peek at what's to come even further down the line with Patch 6.25. In the trailer, which picks up from the end of the content released through FFXIV Patch 6.1, the Warrior of Light (your character) is heading to the Void. We meet a Reaper who lives in the Void, likely an important character as we'll soon find out in the new content. There's also a villain from FFIV who shows up: Scarmiglione, previously known as the Elemental Archfiend during his last Final Fantasy appearance. But the new content doesn't stop there. The trailer also showcased Island Sanctuary, a life sim-styled area of FFXIV meant for solo content. Similar to games like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley , players can build up their land and their own personal farm … [Read more...] about FFXIV Patch 6.2 Buried Memory Release Date and Live Letter 72 Details

Labour to reveal ‘comprehensive’ cost of living plan on Monday as they pledge to scrap ‘outrageous’ prepayment energy meter costs
Sir Keir Starmer will lay out his party's "comprehensive plan" to deal with the costs of living crisis - including rising energy bills - on Monday. Labour on Thursday vowed to stop the "outrageous" premiums that energy prepayment meter customers face. It comes as Boris Johnson doubled down on his insistence that it is for his successor to "make significant fiscal decisions" after talks with energy bosses ended with no new measures to ease the cost of living crisis . Speaking on Friday, Sir Keir said he would outline his new policy proposal in more detail next week. "We do need a strategic, a credible, plan and that's exactly what's missing from this government," he said. Advertisement He added: "On Monday I'm going to be setting out a comprehensive set of proposals, a plan for how we handle the upcoming costs in the autumn, while what you've had from the Conservative Party is two leadership candidates arguing with each other about just how … [Read more...] about Labour to reveal ‘comprehensive’ cost of living plan on Monday as they pledge to scrap ‘outrageous’ prepayment energy meter costs
There is a clear need for action on the cost of living crisis
The GDP figures today don't tell us an awful lot about the state of the British economy or the cost-of-living crisis to come. Growth for the month of June was down 0.6% but it was largely skewed by the extra bank holidays that month to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee (it's worth saying in previous Jubilee years, 2002 and 2012, growth fell by even more). Far more important is the looming economic crisis coming and what the chancellor had to say about it. Price cap prediction up again - cost of living updates The landscape, frankly, could hardly be more bleak . Advertisement The Bank of England has forecast a recession set to last for more than a year, inflation to peak in excess of 13%, rising unemployment, falling real terms living standards - the list of gloom goes on and on. And then there's energy bills - the latest forecasts suggest they could exceed £5,000 a year by the spring . That's not far off five times what they were last winter. … [Read more...] about There is a clear need for action on the cost of living crisis
No new cost of living crisis help announced after Boris meets with energy firms
The Government does not appear to have yet come up with any new ways to help Brits afford their growing energy bills. Boris Johnson met with energy firms today to discuss the climbing price cap -setting the UK up for a ‘challenging winter’ . But the roundtable does not seem to have been especially fruitful, as the prime minister instead reminded the public of the Government’s existing support afterwards. He tweeted: ‘I know people are worried about the difficult winter ahead, which is why we are providing support – including a £400 energy bill discount for all households. ‘This morning I urged electricity companies to continue working on ways to help with the cost of living .’ Mr Johnson then said in a statement: ‘Following our meeting today, we will keep urging the electricity sector to continue working on ways we can ease the cost-of-living pressures and to invest further and faster in British energy security.’ Mr Zahawi added: ‘In the spirit of national … [Read more...] about No new cost of living crisis help announced after Boris meets with energy firms
“Valorant” version 1.03 update makes it easier to surrender – patch notes
The next update for Riot Games' Valorant free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter is live and adjusts one weapon and makes it easier to surrender. Valorant developers made adjustments in the Version 1.03 smaller than past updates as to make the meta form naturally. However, the Guardian had its price reduced and rate of fire reduced to help the weapon carve out its own niche in the current Valorant meta as an economic long-range option for players. As for being able to surrender easier, before this update it took all players on your team to agree to quit in Unrated matches. Now, it'll take 80 percent of your team to agree to surrender. Here are the complete patch notes for Valorant version 1.03: VALORANT VERSION 1.03 PATCH NOTES WEAPON UPDATES Guardian Price reduced from 2700 >>> 2500 Rate of Fire reduced from 6.5 >>> 4.75 Penetration power increased from Medium >>> Heavy Input queue updated from 0.083 >>> 0.1175 … [Read more...] about “Valorant” version 1.03 update makes it easier to surrender – patch notes

Melanoma skin cancer guidelines for NHS updated
By Dominic Hughes Published 29 July 2015 Share close Share page Copy link About sharing New guidelines for diagnosing and treating melanoma skin cancers have been issued to the NHS in England. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) hopes they will end a wide variation in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. They include advice on diagnosing how far the cancer has progressed, identifying the best treatment, and improvements to follow-up care. Melanoma is a form of skin cancer that claims more lives than any other. In 2012, the UK saw more than 2,000 deaths from melanoma and the number of melanoma cases is growing faster than any of the 10 most common cancers. Experts believe this is largely down to the boom in foreign holidays over the past 40 years and, more recently, a big increase in the use of sunbeds. Safe sun Prof Mark Baker, … [Read more...] about Melanoma skin cancer guidelines for NHS updated
