Self-assessment tax payers have just three days left to avoid £100 late fine
SELF-assessment tax payers have until midnight on Sunday to file their return and avoid a £100 fine. The deadline to submit tax returns for 2019/20 was January 31 but HMRC waived the late payment charge so long as they are submitted by February 28. Delaying the fines was aimed at helping those who were struggling to meet the deadline due to the impact of the third national lockdown. But tax payers will still have been charged interest worth 2.6% of the outstanding amount every day until the payment is made from February 1. According to HMRC, nearly two million people missed the end of January deadline this year. Tax returns will need to be filed online now though as those returned by post or via the bank will still incur the fee. How do I fill out the tax return? Here's what you need to know: BEFORE you can complete and submit your tax return, you'll need to have a unique taxpayer reference (UTR) and activation code from HMRC. This can take a while … [Read more...] about Self-assessment tax payers have just three days left to avoid £100 late fine
COVID-19: ‘Don’t you do it with the furry bit?’ – How one family coped with DIY home tests
The Braddoch family are taking rapid flow COVID tests for the first time. They're in the comfort of their own homes, just as millions of people may be when they become entitled to two tests each week from 1 March. The new measures apply to anyone in a household or support bubble with a child or young person who goes to college, primary or secondary school in England. Thirteen-year-old Zach Braddoch is nervous. He's heard horror stories from friends who have taken these before. "They said when they stick it up your nose you can feel it on your eye balls," he says. Advertisement Luckily for Zach, these tests are designed to be self-administered. His father James has already opened the packets and started examining their contents. A long swab, a vial of fluid and the test tray resembling a pregnancy test. But no amount of persuading will convince eight-year-old Seb to take it. How Peter Andre swapped X-rated antics with Katie Price for demure family life with Emily
Peter Andre has had something of an image makeover in the last few years. He started out as the muscular (and overly oiled) singer of Mysterious Girl, but it was his wild marriage to Katie Price , then known as glamour girl Jordan, that really shot him to fame. Their endless reality TV shows, graphic discussions about their sex lives and countless magazine shoots made them one of the most talked about couples, even after their 2009 divorce. But the man he is today is almost unrecognisable from who he was back then. He's now married to Emily MacDonagh, a GP, and he's become known for being a loving father rather than one half of a headline-grabbing couple. Back in 2004, Katie and Peter took part in the third series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. The nation watched as they flirted and fell in love on camera and they had more than a few saucy moments. During one such incident, when she was lying in her hammock with her legs wrapped around Pete, Katie said: "I … [Read more...] about How Peter Andre swapped X-rated antics with Katie Price for demure family life with Emily
Woman’s clever ‘receipt trick’ will reveal if your man is a cheat – and he won’t suspect you’re on to him
A WOMAN has shared her clever and very discreet way of finding out if your man is faithful - and all you’ll need is a receipt. TikTok user Kandy_Dime shared her tip with her followers captioning her video “how to catch a cheater.” In the video, she simply slips a receipt in between the sun visor on the passenger side of her man’s car. The theory is that when the suspected mistress then pulls down the visor to use the mirror the receipt will fall out. Kandy says: “You know what’s missing and you know what’s up, you know what time it is.” The clip has since been viewed almost 20,000 times and hundreds of likes from suspicious spouses. However, not everyone was convinced by her trick. “Or the dude uses it to block out the sun while he’s driving”, wrote one. Another agreed adding, “But how do you know that it’s a girl and not a guy who opens it?” “I can’t be the only one who thinks this is pretty toxic”, added a third.
