Police are carrying out door to door enquiries after gunshots were fired at a house with a child inside. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 1) in the Gorse Hill area of Hillfields near Fishponds. Three people were inside the house during the gunfire including a young child. Thankfully no one was injured. The bullets have caused damage to the front window of the house and forensic officers remain at the scene. Do you have any information about the incident? Live updates as third earthquake hits Surrey this year
Multiple people near Dorking in Newdigate have reported feeling what they describe as an "earthquake" on Friday morning (June 29). Several people took to social media to claim they felt the earthquake at between 6.53am and 7.20am in the Newdigate and Capel area. The British Geological Survey have posted a 2.7 magnitude earthquake to their website listed at 5.54am on Friday (June 29). The co-ordinates for the quake show the epicentre as being some 25 miles from the centre of Dorking. Another magnitude 2.7 on the Richter scale was recorded on Easter Sunday (April 1) in Dorking. And multiple people in the centre of Dorking reported feeling what they described as a "small earthquake" on Wednesday afternoon (June 27). LIVE: Flat fire at apartment block in city centre
A fire has broken out in an apartment block in the city centre. Firefighters are on the scene at Masson Place on Red Bank in the Green Quarter and residents have been evacuated from the building. It is not yet clear if anyone has been injured in the fire, in a seventh floor flat. Four fire engines, two police cars and an ambulance are at apartment block. One resident who fled the block in their pyjamas shortly after 7am said: "We were woken up by a loud bang and the someone shouting fire, get out. "We had to run very quickly out of the flats. "The fire is on the seventh floor, it looks like a wooden partition is on fire. Live updates as earthquake shakes Dorking
Multiple people in the centre of Dorking have reported feeling what they describe as a "small earthquake" on Wednesday afternoon (June 27). People in the vicinity of Church Street have reported the minor tremors, saying they felt the earth move at around 1.30pm. One woman, who was working on the top floor of a three storey building on Church Street at the time, said that she and all of her colleagues noticed it. Other shop owners, including a manager at nearby Pets Corner, also said he noticed tremors. The Mole Valley Geological Society and The British Geological society have been contacted for more information. If confirmed, the earthquake would be the second to hit the area in less than three months after an earthquake of magnitude 2.7 on the Richter scale was recorded on Easter Sunday.
