Amazon changes its logo AGAIN after it was trolled for ‘looking like Adolf Hitler’

· March 2, 2021 ·

AMAZON has changed its logo AGAIN after it was trolled for "looking like Adolf Hitler". The new design is tweaked to remove any similarity to former Nazi chief. Amazon's mobile logo has looked rubbish for years, so a new version was rolled out in January. The image was meant to resemble one of the US shopping giant's brown delivery boxes emblazoned with its "smile" logo. But jokesters on social media thought the new logo looked just like a grinning Fuhrer. Now Amazon has tweaked the logo's "moustache" to make it look a little less Third Reich. A strip of the firm's recognisable bright blue tape spills over the top of the box. A handful of Twitter users saw the icon a little differently, however. They reckoned the symbol looked like the bottom half of Hitler's face, with the tape representing the genocidal dictator's famous trimmed moustache. "Amazon isn't pulling any punches with its new Hitler-stache logo, eh?" one tweeter wrote on Tuesday. Another Twitter … [Read more...] about Amazon changes its logo AGAIN after it was trolled for ‘looking like Adolf Hitler’

Hungary’s postal service to stop delivering newspapers

· January 2, 2021 ·

Hungarian newspapers, TV stations and media platforms have been under pressure from President Viktor Orban's government for many years now. Advertising revenues from state and even private sources have practically dried up. In recent years, press and media platforms have been bought up by business people with close ties to the government and have either been closed down or co-opted. Now the government appears to have found another way of taking aim at the country's independent media . Magyar Posta, Hungary's state postal service, made the shocking announcement last week, tersely stating that nationwide delivery services for daily newspapers would be terminated on 1 July. The official explanation is that it is no longer possible to maintain the service because years of declining circulation have made distribution economically unviable. It's an explanation that many greeted with skepticism. "We were shocked when we found out," says Csaba Lukacs, the director of the Hungarian … [Read more...] about Hungary’s postal service to stop delivering newspapers

· March 3, 2021 ·

Will Smith shared his personal experiences of racism as a black man in America, as he addressed the idea of one day running for office. The film star said he had been called the N-word to his face on 'five or six times'. He said none of the people racially abusing him were "smart", which at first made him thing all racists were stupid. Will told the Pod Save America podcast, hosted by former Obama aides aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor about the experience. He said: "Fortunately for my psyche, I've never been called N-word by a smart person. So I grew up with the impression that racists and racism are stupid and they are easy to get around, I just had to be smarter." Looking into the eyes of those abusing him he "[never] saw anything I perceived as intellect." However when the 52-year-old started to make it in Hollywood, he realised the reality of racism wasn't so clear cut. As he grew older his view changed. "I started seeing the ideas of … [Read more...] about Will Smith says most racists are stupid not evil as he hints at running for office
