The world's oldest film festival has announced its 2018 lineup - and it's jam-packed with studio and independent films. Running from August 29 to September 8, the festival will showcase the world's best in new movies and there are bound to be some Oscar hopefuls in there. The lineup for the 75th annual festival was announced today (Wednesday, July 25) in Rome. British actress Vanessa Redgrave will receive the event's most prestigious award, the Golden Lion, which recognises lifetime achievement. Award-winning Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who received the Golden Lion last year for The Shape of Water, will head up the 2018 jury. It had already been revealed that Venice Film Festival is set to open with a screening of First Man, a much-awaited biopic on Neil Armstrong starring Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy.
