A MUM whose son died in a hit and run road collision, only for the driver responsible to serve just FIVE MONTHS imprisonment, is campaigning for stiffer jail terms. Louise Smyth, aged 49, was widowed 20 years ago, when husband Darren was killed in a motorbike accident after misjudging a bend in a road. It left her to bring up their two sons alone. She later had another son, from a different relationship. Her middle son Matt died aged 25 in a hit and run crash when his motorbike was hit by a delivery driver, who then fled the scene. She collected over 100,000 signatures on a petition calling for the law to be changed, which will be debated in Parliament later this year. Louise, from Duxford, Cambridgeshire, says: “Matt was my middle son, quite shy and quiet - a kind, thoughtful boy still living at home with me when he passed away. "He loved animals and Liverpool FC. He worked as a chef at a pub. Sometimes after a shift, he’d bring me home one of his fabulous brownies … [Read more...] about My son was going to hear his baby’s heartbeat – he was killed by a hit & run driver who served just 5 months in jail

Woman ‘killed and chopped up after being lured to flat above kebab shop by stranger’
A WOMAN was allegedly murdered and chopped up in a flat above a kebab shop after being lured there by a stranger late at night, a court has heard. Azam Mangori, 24, “honed in” on Lorraine Cox, 32, while she walked home after drinking with pals in Exeter, Devon, it is alleged. Jurors at Exeter Crown Court heard how Mangori had sex with Lorraine in an alleyway before taking her to his room in a flat above a kebab shop. It is alleged he then killed her and cut up her body into seven pieces and then kept her remains in his apartment for several days. Mangori, an Iraqi Kurd, admits cutting off Lorraine's arms and legs and disposing of her body parts. But he denies murder. Jurors heard Lorriane had been drinking with friends on Bank Holiday Monday in August last year. She had set off to walk home alone at around 1.30am and had bumped into Mangori, who was out walking the streets. Female burglar busted as cops find Cheetos dust on her mouth after she dropped snack packet and broke into home
COPS busted a female burglar when they found Cheetos dust on her mouth after she dropped a snack packet having broken into a home. Sharon Carr was arrested on a first-degree burglary charge after committing the home invasion in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Friday at around 8pm. Cops said they arrived at the home after a mom of two young kids had called 911 to say another woman had pried a screen off her window and gotten inside. The snack-loving burglar had already fled the scene but cops said they found “a bag of Cheetos and a bottle of water on the floor near the open window.” However Carr is said to have emerged from the shadows just a few seconds later, cops told KTUL . The mom then ID’d the invader and further evidence was gathered when the cops found residue from the orange snack still stuck in her teeth, according to the report. A 14-YEAR-old boy has been charged in the shooting death of a mom, 32, who was driving home from a dinner in Colorado last month. Pamela Cabriales's Land Rover was hit six times in a seemingly random attack as she drove home from dinner with a friend in Denver . At least one of the bullets struck the victim in the head, and she died at a hospital several days later. Police reportedly arrested two male suspects, the 14-year-old whose name is being withheld because he's a minor, and 18-year-old Neshan Johnson, who is suspected of driving a car the teen was in. A witness told police that the underage suspect was standing next to a Honda, presumably the one Johnson was driving, before firing the shots at Cabriales's car. The suspects took off in their car after the shooting, but were later apprehended by officers and attempted to flee on foot. Three suspects were apprehended, but it's unclear at the time if the third person has been or will be charged.
