THE mother of the suspected Robb Elementary School shooter has revealed her haunting final conversation with the 18-year-old and the strange gift he received for his birthday. The final time Adriana Reyes spoke to her son, Salvador Ramos , was last Monday, when she gifted him a card and Snoopy stuffed animal. She said she was "surprised" to learn her son was involved in the horrific shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that claimed the lives of 21 people, including 19 children. "My son wasn't a violent person. The horrific attack took place on Tuesday morning when the suspected shooter Salvador Ramos , 18, opened fire inside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas . The gunman in Wednesday’s Texas school massacre was a lonely 18-year-old who was bullied over a childhood speech impediment, suffered from a fraught home life and lashed out violently against peers and strangers recently and over the years, friends and relatives said. Using weapons purchased this month, days after his 18th birthday, authorities said, Salvador Rolando Ramos shot and critically wounded his grandmother. He then went on a shooting rampage at Robb Elementary School near his home in Uvalde, Texas, killing at least 19 children and two adults and injuring others. Ramos also was fatally shot, apparently by police. The Texas Department of Public Safety said he was wearing body armour and armed with a rifle. A 10-year-old student of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, has told of how she narrowly missed the shooting , which killed 12 of her classmates, after going home early. Katarina Roque told The Telegraph she did not feel well after a morning awards ceremony, which was attended by parents, and asked her mother to go home. “She was supposed to be in the classroom, but I took her out early,” Marisela Roque, 34, said. “I just thank God that I did, because I was going to leave her and I didn’t. “She said she wanted to leave around 11, but I said ‘no, that’s too early’ but after that I said ‘ok, let’s go’.” An hour later, Mrs Roque got a call from another parent at the school, telling her there was an active shooter at Robb Elementary and that some students had been injured.
