Published June 1, 2018 Daníel Bjarnason has presence. He exudes the sort of poise you notice from across a room. When he talks, he’s prolifically calm, his voice tinged with the type of sincere honesty that makes every conversation seem intimate. It’s interesting, then, how incongruous his music is with his personality. Stormy, dramatic, and emotionally demanding, Daníel’s compositions are the kind you have to sit down and breathe after. He’s one of Iceland’s rising musical stars, and for good reason. Once you hear his work, you’ll never forget him. The natural composer Daníel started taking piano lessons aged six, but quit only years later in favour of sports. As a teenager, his interest in music reignited and he began composing. “The idea of composing just interested me,” Daníel says, sitting in a corner nook of Harpa’s backstage area. Behind him, the sun gleams on the harbour. “I found that it suited … [Read more...] about Odysseus Reborn: Daníel Bjarnason Brings His Wartime Opera Home

With Ant Mcpartlin taking a break from work while undergoing rehab, Declan Donnelly goes it alone for the second time this year (after Saturday Night Takeaway’s final episode) when the week-long live shows of Britain’s Got Talent begin on Monday. Each night, eight acts will perform in the semi-finals, with two acts making it through to next weekend’s final. And Dec will likely spend the week doing what he’s told TV Mag previously – not watching himself back on TV and not engaging with social-media critics. “You can’t do anything about live stuff once it’s done,” says Dec, 42. “At times the criticism stings, but not often. Usually it’s a case of: ‘Look at you with your 11 [Twitter] followers. You’re brave.’” Ant McPartlin jokes he's wearing a bra as he joins in with Britain's Got Talent star Sora's sexy act Ant should return to take his rightful place alongside Dec on their other shows once … [Read more...] about Declan Donnelly opens up about live TV as he goes it alone on Britain’s Got Talent
BENIDORM fans have been loving the tenth series, but fans are wondering if there will be an eleventh. Here's all the info on whether we will see a series 11 of the much-loved ITV show. Will there be a series 11 of Benidorm? On March 1, 2018 The Sun revealed the current tenth series of Benidorm will be the last amid falling ratings. A disappointing 4.3 million fans tuned in for the series 10 opener — a 400,000 drop on last year’s launch. Then on April 29, 2018, the show's creator Derren Litten confirmed the sad news. He wrote: “Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm! “I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. “It's difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching!” This means there will be NO more Benidorm, making series 10 the last. Could Benidorm relocate to Scarborough? The Sun reported how the show's bosses are set to make a new seaside comedy set in … [Read more...] about Is there going to be a Benidorm series 11, when does season 10 end and could it relocate to Scarborough?

Katie Champion, a professional singer from Seaford, East Sussex, wasn’t particularly looking forward to her evening out last year – an evening in Eastbourne with her mother to see Whitney Houston tribute act Belinda Davids. “I was dubious,” she says. “But it was unbelievable.” In the midst of the event Champion, 26, was unable to “suspend her disbelief” to the extent that Davids actually appeared as if she was Houston herself. The atmosphere became all holy and sepulchral: “Everyone went quiet. They were silenced.” It was as if Whitney herself had been reincarnated and was in the room. That’s the curious through-the-looking-glass scenario facing Belinda Davids, who started her UK tour last night in Glasgow. As a tribute act, she belts out Whitney’s repertoire, giving the fans all the songs they need from “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” to “I Will Always Love You” with, on this occasion, the … [Read more...] about Whitney Houston is being brought back to life by one incredible tribute act
