Ferrari is to increase prices of its luxury sports cars as the Italian manufacturer posted record profits following booming demand from wealthy customers. Benedetto Vigna, chief executive of Ferrari, said the carmaker would start to increase prices from the start of next year after raking in record orders from customers who are accepting deliveries beyond next year. Ferrari’s V8 convertible Portofino M retails for around £175,000 Ferrari, while its sportier mid-engine F8 line of cars sell from £204,000. Demand from Chinese and American buyers pushed up sales of cars by 29pc to 3,455 during the three months to the end of June, sending profit 22pc higher to €251m compared with a year earlier. Mr Vigna said the company was in “a phase of strong growth, with quarterly record results in terms of revenues” and profit. Shares in Ferrari rose 1.2pc to €209.40 each. N orway has drawn up plans to ration electricity exports in a move that has heightened fears of energy shortages in the UK and Europe this winter. The government in Oslo on Monday announced new rules limiting the sale of power to foreign countries as heatwaves threaten Norway’s hydroelectric power generation. Experts said the restrictions threatened the UK’s plan to draw power from Norway this winter via the North Sea Link - leaving electricity supplies more stretched and risking even higher bills for consumers. The National Grid has already revealed that the UK is set to be more dependent than ever on the Continent for power, with interconnectors expected to provide up to 5.7 gigawatts of electricity at peak times. About one quarter of that total – or 1.4 gigawatts – is set to come from Norway. RANGERS FC fixed the retail prices of their home replica kit according to a provisional finding by the CMA. The Competition and Markets Authority's (CMA) say the Ibrox club allegedly colluded to fix the price of the main adult home replica shirt over a period in 2018. Kit manufacturer Elite Sports and JD Sports were also provisionally found to have fixed the retail prices of a number of Rangers-branded replica kits and clothing products from 2018 to 2019. They will all face hefty fines if they are determined to have broken the law. At this stage there has been no finding that the law has been broken. However, JD Sports have already set aside £2million in their financial statements ahead of any potential penalties. The CMA confirmed that JD Sports and Elite have already "confessed to cartel activity" and "applied for leniency" in a bid to have their fines reduced.
