At Burger King, for the first two weeks of August, customers can buy a Whopper for just £1, rather than the usual £4.49, if they combine the chain’s in-app deal with the Government scheme. The same goes for the Chicken Royale. JD Wetherspoon has also signed up to the scheme, and will be selling meals for as little as £2. The pub chain announced that, under the scheme, breakfasts in its boozers will cost £2.24, a pizza £2.75, and other meals £2.37, with kids’ meals costing £2.08. At McDonald’s cheeseburgers are 50p and entire value meals are £2.30.
