John Dorie The role of John Dorie, a lonesome and friendly survivor, is played by American actor Garret Dilahunt. Garret is probably best known for his roles as Simon Escher on Burn Notice, Burt Chance on Raising Hope and Ty Walker in the sixth season of Justified. He also played Steve Curtis on ER. He's also starred in several films, including No Country for Old Men, Oliver Sherman, 12 Years a Slave, Just Before I Go and Come and Find Me. He's married to the actress Michelle Hunt. *Season 8 finale spoilers ahead* The Walking Dead season 8 concluded in thrilling fashion last night as Rick and Negan threw down in a field, the former slashing the latter's throat but choosing not to let him die, instead damning him to "rot in a cell", until the end of his days, presumably. With Negan now out of action in terms of bludgeoning people to death, season 8 (and its key antagonist) is now very up in the air. Asked by EW what to expect in season 9, showrunner Scott Gimple said: "The show evolves.… They’re facing different problems, They’re facing different problems with each other. Another The Walking Dead season finale, another series of scenes featuring our band of heroes surrounded by the enemy facing an uncertain fate. Only there's been a change in the wind - this is a very different show to what it was two action-packed if intermittently arduous seasons ago, and it shows. 'Wrath' puts the 'final' into finale and does so rapidly, an episode serving as the pay-off to the multitudes of introductions fans have contended with. The chapter of The Saviours and Negan - as we know them, anyway - is over. 'Wrath' ties its disparate plot points together by bringing all characters together for one final showdown which we were initially led to believe will either end with either every single Saviour or Alexandrian dispatched of. The Walking Dead may have just wrapped up its current season but that doesn't seem to have prevented the writers from lining up next year's villain. Despite contending with a small matter of the final showdown between Rick and Negan, keen-eyed viewers noticed a little addition in the background which may be hinting at the anticipated addition of an even more terrifying faction than The Saviours. The scenes showing Rick lead his army toward The Saviours featured a moment in which they look out from the top of a hill and spot a huge horde of walkers in the distance. Continuing along the hill, the gun-toting warriors pass a series of poles which to the uninitiated seem like nothing at all. The Walking Dead season 8 finale has aired bringing with it the conclusion to the All Out War arc which has shaped the AMC series for two whole seasons. Titled 'Wrath,' the episode wrapped an action-packed season with one final showdown between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his biggest adversary yet, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Negan - the leader of The Saviours - first appeared in the traumatic season 6 finale, an introduction which saw him bludgeon one of the main heroes to death. it wasn't until the season 7 premiere, however, that we learned he killed Abraham and then, mere minutes later, killed Glenn too. “I'm gonna kill you,” Rick vowed all those episodes ago.
