A number of rail closures in Lurgan will have a knock on effect for services in Portadown and Lisburn. Translink will be carrying out major investment and infrastructure work in the Lurgan area later this year, via the Lurgan Area Track Renewal Project. Over 1.7km of track will be relayed during a four-week closure period in July and August.In order to prepare for this however, there will be two scheduled weekend closures of the railway line at Lurgan during the weekends of 23-24 February and 2-3 March. These are to facilitate track drainage and associated level crossing works. These works will take place in the area between the William Street level crossing and Bell’s Row, and every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience. Dublin's senior footballers won a historic fourth All-Ireland football championship in a row with victory over Tyrone in Croke Park on Sunday. The Dublin squad had travelled to Clare the weekend ahead of the final, and the area has become a popular retreat for the Dubs as Gavin's parents hail from Cooraclare and Moy in the west of the county. The All-Ireland champions stayed at Donald Trump's Doonbeg hotel and held a training session at Kilmihil GAA club during their stay. While at Kilmihil, Dublin boss Jim Gavin said the club presented his squad with a mass card wishing them luck in the final, and revealed today that the card came with them to Croke Park on Sunday. ENGINEERING work and other disruption threatens to hamper Bank Holiday plans for many. Here's your guide to help you plan your three-day weekend without disappointment. Trains Many train companies will be running revised timetables over the Bank Holiday weekend. Some will put on a Sunday timetable on Monday 27 August, while others will be changing entire routes altogether. Many rail firms are also running bus replacement services on some routes. Some stations are closing altogether, such as Euston station in London. This closure means no Virgin Trains on the West Coast Main Line will be running to or from London for the whole weekend — and the following two weekends.
