Google is believed to be readying the next iteration of its Pixel smartphone line up in order to win customers away from the iPhone X . Leaks have emerged that suggest Google will follow Apple's approach and give the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL a notched display. The first glimpse gadget fans have had of the new phone comes from a member of the XDA Developer's Forum known as meraz9000 . After posting images allegedly showing a Pixel 3 XL prototype with the notched display, it was also revealed the gadget will have a glass back. A glass back means that there's an increased likelihood that Google will put wireless charging into the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. It will also reportedly keep the "Active Edge" feature from the Pixel 2, which allows users to trigger a function by squeezing the sides of the handset. Serial gadget leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, who runs the OnLeaks Twitter , says he has some insight into the kind of specs that Google will put into its next phone. Hemmerstoffer claims … [Read more...] about Google Pixel 3 will go toe-to-toe with the iPhone X later this year
APPLE's iPhone X may truly be the world's most waterproof phone after surviving two weeks at the bottom of a river bed. This particular handset was lost by its owner a fortnight prior before being unearthed by YouTuber Dallas – who shared the remarkable discovery on his popular YouTube channel "Man +River", including the owner's priceless reaction. Beyond the ordeal of losing a £999 phone, the owner Alyssa was also missing the baby pics of her child captured using the flagship's high-tech camera. After stumbling upon the iPhone X, we see Dallas ringing her up on the device the morning after, which was still in working order despite a bunch of cracks on its flashy OLED screen. "We have your phone..and it works perfectly," the YouTuber tells Alyssa, who replies "that's the craziest thing ever". "I was devastated," said the phone's owner in the clip, adding "you completely turned my world upside down". Truly waterproof phones? A STUNNING concept design for an iPad of the future has turned up online. It was created by designer Ben Geskin, who regularly pens imagined Apple products that could one day become reality. His latest creation is a so-called "iPad 2018", which borrows some of the best features from Apple's £999 iPhone X. For instance, the bezel (the border that surrounds the screen) is seriously thin, which is reminiscent of the iPhone X. This is made by possible by scrapping the Home button from the front. Instead, the iPad boasts an iPhone X-style Face ID sensor above the screen. Face ID is a revolutionary Apple technology that lets you unlock devices using your mug. A projector shoots beams of invisible light onto your face, scanning its shape, and confirming your identity. It's only available on the iPhone X right now, but Apple accidentally teased the possibility of an iPad with Face ID earlier this week. In any case, it wouldn't be surprising to see an iPad with this attractive concept … [Read more...] about iPad of the FUTURE revealed in amazing Apple concept pics – and it nicks a few tricks from the iPhone X
The iPhone X had a price tag of $999 on launch day in November 2017 making it the most expensive version of the device ever manufactured. Most of the time it was even more expensive outside the U.S. due to sales and import taxes. Even though many feared the phone could flop due to that high price tag, Apple reported better than expected results for its second fiscal quarter in early May. The company is still firmly on course to surpass the trillion-dollar mark in market capitalization. Even though the phone is proving a financial success for Apple, it is still prohibitively expensive for people on an average wage across much of the globe. Swiss Bank UBS conducted an analysis of the device’s price for someone on an average wage in 15 different professions in major cities. It found that in Zurich for example, which is incredibly affluent, somebody would have to work almost 5 days straight to get their hands on the iPhone X. For an average New Yorker, 6.7 days would be required. … [Read more...] about How long do you have to work to afford an iPhone X?
APPLE'S ludicrously expensive £999 iPhone X could be getting a major price cut this year. A top industry expert believes Apple is planning to sell a successor model for as low as $600 – that's just £450. Legendary analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple is aiming for a "more aggressive" strategy for the prices of new 2018 iPhones. Countless reports suggested that Apple has struggled to flog last year's 5.8-inch iPhone X, which costs anywhere from £999 to £1,149. Kuo says this year we'll see three models, including a budget handset with a 6.1-inch LCD screen priced at $600 (£450). He also predicts that there'll be a slightly more expensive 5.8-inch handset with a better OLED screen that'll cost around $800 (£600). And finally, there'll reportedly be a top-tier model called the iPhone X Plus, with a 6.5-inch OLED display. This will reportedly cost as little as $900, which is around $670. Sadly, Apple doesn't actually sell phones in the UK using a direct … [Read more...] about Cheap iPhone X incoming? Apple’s £999 handset set for MAJOR price cut
