Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson has revealed that the ITV soap will celebrate International Women's Day with an all-female episode. The soap chief, who took over from Iain MacLeod earlier this year, confirmed that not only the cast will be female-led but also women will produce, direct and write the one-off episode on Friday March 8, 2019. Speaking at the Emmerdale press event yesterday, Jane shared her joy at announcing the milestone, which marks the first time a soap has ever had an all-female team both on and off the screen.
