SYCAMORE – When Ideal Industries Inc. founder J. Walter Becker started the company in 1916, he worked out of his mother’s kitchen with the core belief that a product’s worth should also have a human component: Ideal service should be a part of the coveted company-client relationship. Back in 1916, the company was based in Chicago and known as Ideal Commutator Dresser Company of Chicago, according to Ideal’s company website. In 1924, Becker moved the company, newly dubbed Ideal Industries Inc., to Sycamore, where it’s been ever since. Now, 103 years later, Ideal Industries has expanded its reach internationally, according to an Ideal Industries news release. On Friday, Ideal announced its most recent acquisition: Durham, North Carolina, and Racine, Wisconsin-based Cree Lighting, an ancillary company of Cree Inc. With the launch of CNN Brazil, Latin America's biggest TV market is set to be roiled by the entry of a powerful new player looking to challenge the dominance of current leader Globo News. Its arrival, announced this month, comes at a high-voltage time for Brazil as it undergoes an abrupt swerve to the right under President Jair Bolsonaro, a pro-business ultraconservative who took office at the beginning of January. CNN Brazil will share the branding of the US-based network that pioneered round-the-clock news, but will in fact be a licensed separate domestic channel operated and staffed by Brazilians, in the vein of CNN Turk or CNN Indonesia. Deputy Prime Minister Karim Durdymyradov, who supervised the industrial sector, was dismissed for serious shortcomings in work. He is temporarily substituted by the Deputy Prime Minister Mammetkhan Chakiyev, who also remains the superviser of the transport and communications industry. The Scottish Fishermen’s Federation (SFF) will publish its first ever annual State of the Industry Report on Sunday, with less than four months to go until the UK leaves the EU. The document backs exiting the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and calls for the UK to be able to negotiate access and quota rights as an independent coastal state by the end of 2020.
