Tense scenes on tonight's celebrity edition of The Chase , as comedian Joel Dommett just missed out on the biggest ever offer in the show's history. The Masked Singer presenter was the last man standing after his fellow celebs crashed out, caught by the encyclopaedic knowledge of Jenny "The Vixen" Ryan. And after securing £4000 in his Cash Builder, Jenny decided to up the stakes by offering him £150,000 - the highest offer even made to a single player. Joel lunged at the challenge, and by the end even Jenny admitted she was impressed. He managed to make it to safety with the hefty sum, but the Final Chase was another matter. Scoring a none-too-shabby 11 points, Jenny surpassed his score and scuppered his hopes of a grand victory. In the end, Joel managed to earn £1000, which he generously announced would be going straight to a great cause - The Teenage Cancer Trust. "Ahh, tough on your own Joel," one viewer sympathised. "Incredible scenes at #TheChase HQ, where Joel … [Read more...] about The Chase fans gutted as Joel Dommett just misses out on biggest ever single prize pot

Champions League: Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla on opposite trajectories
Three weeks is a long time in football. Before their Champions League last-16 first leg against Borussia Dortmund on February 17 , Sevilla were riding the crest of a wave with nine straight wins and seven clean sheets in a row. Since then, they've lost three of their last four games and fallen out of the La Liga title race. Dortmund, meanwhile, appear to have turned a corner. Marco Rose has been announced as their next coach and, with the exception of last weekend's 4-2 defeat in Munich , the team are on the rise again. The turning point for both teams was that fraught night in Andalusia. But not so fast. Dortmund have failed to get beyond the last-16 of the Champions League since 2017, when they lost to Monaco under the shadow of the terrorist attack on their team bus . Last season, they beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the first leg, only to let it slip in the second. Interim Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is keen to avoid a repeat and knows that a big performance is … [Read more...] about Champions League: Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla on opposite trajectories

JLS set to reunite for first time in a decade as they sign new record deal
THEIR hotly anticipated comeback had been almost a decade in the making when JLS finally told me last February they were hitting the road for a greatest hits reunion tour. But with the world on hold just a month later, the four-piece were forced to postpone their plans. Fortunately for fans, I can today reveal the band have put their time to good use anyway — signing a new deal with record giant BMG which will see them release new music this year to coincide with the rescheduled tour. And in a Covid-friendly Bizarre special via Zoom, the lads told me how they have already begun recording the record and are hoping to team up with a string of top writers, performers and producers including Ed Sheeran to get it finished. Marvin Humes told me: “We were absolutely devastated. We were riding such a massive high this time last year when we announced the comeback, and we did a couple of performances. “We were on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and that was the last … [Read more...] about JLS set to reunite for first time in a decade as they sign new record deal
Watch tennis legend David Nalbandian spectacularly cheat death as rally car rolls over three times in horror crash
FORMER Wimbledon finalist David Nalbandian has cheated death in a spectacular rally crash in his native Argentina. The ex-world number three walked away from the accident despite the car he was driving rolling several times after he lost control of the vehicle on a bend. The 39-year-old had to abandon the opening day of the Pagos del Tuyu Rally. But he was back in action for the second and last day of the classic race in the province of Buenos Aires yesterday after repairs to his Toyota Yaris MRT. Footage of the accident showed a photographer running to get out of the way as Nalbandian’s car rolled five times in front of stunned spectators before coming to a stop on its side. Miraculously neither the former tennis player, defeated at the 2002 Wimbledon final by Lleyton Hewitt in three sets, or his co-pilot were injured. Nalbandian, who decided to try his hand at rally driving after retiring from tennis in 2013, has survived two previous accidents at the wheel … [Read more...] about Watch tennis legend David Nalbandian spectacularly cheat death as rally car rolls over three times in horror crash
