Golf: Charlotte wins club double.
TADCASTER Grammar student Charlotte Austwick had a double win on Sunday by possibly becoming the youngest player in Pike Hills Golf Club's history to win the Ladies Championship, on the same day she also won the Ladies Centenary Trophy. The double win was created due to the Ladies 36 hole Club Championship on July 8 having to be suspended just at the beginning of the second round due to thunder, lightening and a heavy downpour that flooded the course making it unplayable.This meant the ladies committee had to move the second round to a day where all the competitors were able to play it again.On Sunday the ladies playing in the second round of the Ladies Championship (a scratch competition) were also deemed eligible to play in the Centenary Trophy (a handicapped competition).Five handicapper Charlotte, 15, eventually won the Championships with a 159 over the two rounds.
