MUM-OF-ONE Catherine Parr was diagnosed with facial paralysis as a child – and since then it hasn’t ever gone away. At school relentless bullying took its toll, leaving her too scared to go out. But now Catherine, 28, from Enfield, North London, faces a new ordeal. Distraught parents have shared shocking pictures of their toddler ravaged by herpes which they believe started from a "deadly kiss". They now want to warn others after their two-year-old son 'could have been blinded' and had to spend four days in hospital last month. Lorna Hoy, 27, and Andy Briggs, 34, first noticed small red spots forming on their son Kalo's face, chest and arm. After being dismissed twice by doctors, Lorna claims it wasn't until their third attempt to seek medical advice their concerns were taken seriously. Kalo tested positive for the herpes simplex virus - something doctors suggest he caught through kissing an infected adult. The mum-of-four is now sharing her story to raise awareness for the virus, which, if not treated, can be fatal in children. Thankfully Kalo has since made a full recovery after his time in hospital.
