Evan Comen 24/7 Wall Street Published 10:01 AM EDT Oct 3, 2018 Once wildly expensive and inaccessible but to the very rich, computers today are one of the most ubiquitous technologies worldwide. Though many personal computers in the early 1970s were much cheaper, the most basic model of an HP 3000 sold for $95,000 in 1972, the equivalent of slightly over half a million in today’s dollars. Today, a brand-new computer costs just a few hundred dollars and has capabilities that in 1972 were in the realm of science fiction. The advent of the personal computer is one of the most important technological developments of the last century. How much does it cost to sell your house
AS boiling temperatures continue to frazzle Brits across the country, many are turning to electric fans to help them sleep during the heat. Some shops have even run out of fans, as shoppers scramble for ways to keep cool. But how much energy does a fan use? You'll need to check the "wattage" of your fan as this tells you the amount of power that a fan needs to operate. To find the output you need to turn the wattage into kilowatt hours. You do this by diving by 1000. This will give you how much output is used in one hour. You then x this number by amount of hours you're using the fan. Cost = power (kilowatt) × time (hour) × cost of 1 kWh (pence). So if you're fan is 70 watts output on its high setting and you always use this, divide 70 by 1000 = 0.07. x this by 12 hours use per night = 0.84kW output. How expensive is it to leave them on overnight? Once you have your kilowatt output, you need to x it by the amount you pay for 1 kW of electricity - check your bill! … [Read more...] about How much electricity do fans use and how expensive is it to leave them on overnight?

It's report found that between 2011 and 2017, rent prices for 2 bedroom flats in London increased by 25.9% whilst over the same period, monthly earnings increased by less than half (9.1%). Across England as a whole, between 2011 and 2017, rent increased by 18.2%, with the average 2-bedroom flat costing £650 per month. Meanwhile wages … [Read more...] about How much it now costs to rent a flat in your local borough
