Carter Page says he could sue the FBI: Former Trump staffer ‘has a team of lawyers combing the IG report’ after he was made to look like a traitor so that they could spy on the campaign
Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page said last night he could sue the FBI after he was made to look like a 'traitor' so they could spy on the campaign. Page said he had been a CIA asset who had risked his life for the United States and told Fox News the FBI had used information about him, 'altered it to say the opposite – basically that you are betraying your country when you helped your country.' In Monday's findings Inspector General Michael Horowitz identified 17 'significant inaccuracies or omissions' in applications for a warrant and later renewals from the secretive FISA court to monitor Page's communications. The former Trump staffer told Fox: 'Right now, as we speak, we have our team of attorneys going through that document in great detail.' Lewis Hamilton could end his glittering F1 career at Ferrari, suggests Mercedes team principal
Toto Wolff, the Mercedes team principal, has delivered the strongest signal yet that Lewis Hamilton could end his glittering Formula One career at Ferrari. While the five-time world champion is under contract with Mercedes until the end of next season, the prospect of radical regulation changes for the 2021 season will at least persuade him to consider one final blockbuster move to the oldest and most prestigious team in the sport. In a moment of striking candour, Wolff acknowledged here in Barcelona that the temptations of Ferrari might prove too strong for his star driver, recently signed to a two-year contract extension worth £40 million a season, to resist. “We have to acknowledge that is in every driver’s head to drive for Ferrari,” he said. “It is the most iconic marque in Formula One. Even within the team we have discussed it. You have to be open-minded – drivers will explore these opportunities. We have always been very transparent with … [Read more...] about Lewis Hamilton could end his glittering F1 career at Ferrari, suggests Mercedes team principal
Ranking the F1 teams after five rounds: why is the gap from Mercedes to Ferrari so large?
With the Spanish Grand Prix and five rounds of the 2019 season done we now have a fairly clear picture about the true standing at the front of the pack. Unfortunately for Ferrari fans and those who hope for a competitive season, the tale has been of Mercedes bossing it from race one onwards. Ferrari's incremental improvement from 2015 has started to go in the wrong direction, meaning the chances of either of their drivers fighting for the team's first drivers' title since 2007 are receding fast. Championship leader Lewis Hamilton sits nearly 50 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. A resurgent Valtteri Bottas is up there, too. So, now is a good time to look in more detail about each team's performance. The aim at the start of the season is improvement from the year before. Who has made big strides in 2019? Has Red Bull's new partnership with Honda helped them close the gap to Ferrari and Mercedes? Do Haas lead the midfield? Will Williams … [Read more...] about Ranking the F1 teams after five rounds: why is the gap from Mercedes to Ferrari so large?
Patriots admit ‘inappropriately’ filming sideline during Bengals-Browns game BUT the team claims the footage was for a web series and not a ‘Spygate’ sequel as coach Bill Belichick insists he has ‘zero involvement’ in incident
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick issued his own denial on Monday: 'We have absolutely nothing to do with anything that they produce or direct or shoot' The New England Patriots have acknowledged that a team video crew 'inappropriately filmed' the Cincinnati Bengals' sideline during Sunday's game in Cleveland, but the team and coach Bill Belichick have denied cheating to gain an advantage. In any case, the incident is a violation of league rules that serves as a reminder of the team's 2007 Spygate scandal, which resulted in a $500,000 fine for Belichick and the loss of a first-round pick. In a statement posted on Twitter and the team website, the Patriots said that a three-person crew for a web series titled 'Do Your Job' 'inappropriately filmed the field from the press box' as part of a feature on the scouting department. The filming took place 'without specific knowledge of league rules,' the statement said.
