AN Alexa for Xbox app is coming to the latest versions of the games consoles. Amazon plans to launch the app for the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles. It will give users the ability to control their consoles using Alexa voice commands. Such commands will include turning on your Xbox, launching a game or playing a song. You'll also be able to bring up your Amazon shopping list or take a look at your Ring doorbell footage. The app isn't avaliable yet but the Microsoft website does include a section about it. Alexa for Xbox builds upon the Alexa Skill app that launched in 2018. That app required users to say "Alexa, tell Xbox to..." and then it could make your Xbox turn on and off amongst other basic comands. Hong Kong: New UK visa route opens for up to three million people
Just under three million people in Hong Kong are now able to apply to live, study and work in the UK after a new visa route opened. The government offered a pathway to British citizenship for those holding British National (Overseas) status and their eligible family members last summer. It followed the imposition of a controversial new security law in Hong Kong by China, which has since been described by the UK as means to "crush dissent" against Beijing. Brexit: European Parliament declines to fix date of EU-UK trade deal vote amid new row over Northern Ireland Protocol
The European Parliament has declined to set a date to ratify the Brexit trade deal following a row over the UK's action in relation to arrangements for Northern Ireland. Tensions over the Northern Ireland protocol, a key part of Britain's divorce deal with the EU , have flared again this week. It comes after the UK took unilateral action to extend grace periods for businesses such as supermarkets and parcel operators, before they have to comply with new post- Brexit rules. Light-touch regulation schemes on goods from the rest of the UK transiting to Northern Ireland had been due to expire at the end of March, but now they won't end until October.
