A Horsham town centre barbers is to open a second branch at South Lodge hotel. Police said ‘shameless’ Jake Morris, 24, had ‘no place in society’ after he was caged for the shocking attack on the pensioner, who has dementia. He denied sexually assaulting her at the Leigh facility when interviewed by officers. During the court case Morris changed his plea and finally admitted his sickening crime. Morris, of no fixed abode, also pleaded guilty to burglary and assault and was jailed for six years and four months. Key Horsham redevelopment priorities mapped out in growth deal for town
Key redevelopment opportunities in and around Horsham have been identified in a new growth deal signed by two local authorities. A former mayor, a man who stole a child's piggy bank, serial burglars and a drunken pilot have all been jailed in Surrey so far this year. Surrey Live is naming this year's worst criminals in an attempt to bring to light the efforts of the police and courts to halt crime. Thousands of hours of time in prison have been dished out over the year so far. These are 66 of the criminals sent to prison from January to July. July Aldershot drug syndicate A gang of drug dealers, known as the Smithy Syndicate, were jailed for a combined total of 35 years after bringing more than a kilo of cocaine and heroin to Aldershot. Once the class A substances had been brought into the town, the six men set up their operation from the Travelodge hotel in Alexandra Road. From there, the gang preyed on local addicts but within 24 hours one of the members was in custody.
