Bristol superclub Motion has once again made it into the definitive guide of the world's best nightclubs. The sprawling warehouse space has in fact moved up the rankings - jumping from 16th where it was placed in 2018 to 10th this year. This means it is the second highest placed UK club on the list, beating the likes of Fabric, Ministry of Sound and Warehouse Project but losing out to Printworks in London, which came in at number nine. Last year the club boosted its offering by launching Marble Factory, a venue similar in style to its neighbouring main room but with improved lighting and a crisper sound system. The 1,600 capacity space was christened in style by Chemical Brothers and has since welcomed a number of the world's best DJs. Paris has been given the title of the world’s most expensive city along with Singapore and Hong Kong, according to The Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) 2019 Worldwide Cost of Living Survey. It is "not surprising" that the French capital was high up in the ranking as it has been in the top 10 since 2003, report author Roxana Slavcheva told Euronews. However, the fact that the city had jumped six places in two years was "not insignificant", Euronews reports. The EIU considers and compares the average cost of more than 160 items — from food, toiletries and clothing, to domestic help, transport, and utility bills — in 133 cities across 93 countries.
