Produced by Christopher Gidez On Aug. 28, 2017, police in upstate Corning, New York, were called to the home of Michele Neurauter. Police found the 46-year-old mother of three hanging from a rope -- an apparent suicide. But Police Chief Jeff Spaulding had doubts, calling a rope mark found on Michele's chin "unsettling." Michele's mother Jeanne Laundy thought she was murdered, and pointed fingers at Neurauter's ex-husband, even though he was more than 2,500 miles away on a job interview in California when Michele was found dead. "I'm thinking it's more than likely Lloyd killed her," Jeanne Laundy told "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty. Lloyd Neurauter was Michele's ex-husband. For five years, the couple had been embroiled in bitter custody battles. Michele accused Lloyd of turning their daughters against her. On the day police found Michele, the couple's 19-year-old middle daughter, Karrie, at college in Rochester, told investigators that over the weekend, her father helped her … [Read more...] about “I had to choose”: Did a father brainwash his daughter to help kill her mother?
Help dad get custody
No one really knows what goes on behind closed doors between a married couple. When Michele and Lloyd Neurauter were together, raising their three daughters, they’d seemed happy. But when they split, their troubles were exposed. Their divorce was messy and their fights spilled out in court for everyone to see. Michele, 46, spent five years in a custody battle with her ex-husband over their youngest daughter. Their oldest girl had left home. Another, Karrie, 19, was away at college studying computing. But their 14-year-old lived with Michele in Corning, New York, and became the focus of the estranged couple’s tug of war. Eventually Lloyd, 45, lost custody of their youngest and was ordered to pay child support, as well as alimony to Michele. Conflict was the last thing Michele ever wanted. Michele, who worked at a technology company, was known for helping others in her community. It had been Lloyd who’d brought the battle into their relationship. ABUSED by her alcoholic father as a child, taken into foster care at nine and left homeless as a teenager, the early years of Zinnia Young’s life were a nightmare. The 23-year-old, from Sunderland, spent her late teens sofa surfing, clinging to bad relationships and toxic friends because they could offer her a place to sleep which seemed safer than the streets. More than 18,000 young people under 25 are expected to spend Christmas homeless, according to Centrepoint. But two thirds of these will be hidden homeless because, like Zinnia, they risk sofa-surfing to escape the cold winter nights. Her teen years weren’t Zinnia’s first experience of homelessness. Growing up as the eldest of three girls, her parents would move often to avoid unwanted attention from social services - and the family even lived in a tent at one point. Speaking exclusively to Fabulous Online, Zinnia said: “My childhood was quite difficult. “When I was five my mum kicked my dad out so … [Read more...] about I was abused by my dad at 5, lost my beloved baby at 16 and was made homeless
POLICE in Thailand say a Brit died in his hotel room as a result of drinking too much alcohol - despite earlier claims his body showed signs of a fight. Luke Ramage, 31, had just arrived in the country with friends for a trip around South-East Asia and checked into a hotel in the Patpong red light district of the city. The dad-of-two went out the area's bars and initial reports said the safe in his hotel, which had no valuables inside, was open. Now, the boss of the Bavana hotel says Luke was seen on CCTV staggering through the reception with his pals trying to get him into his room. They took a lift to the fifth room then left him on the bed before walking back out to go to continue drinking, it's claimed. Hours before his death Luke, from County Durham, posted a Facebook photo of himself with two pals in a Bangkok bar. He wrote: “Keeeeeemon. Boys on tour.” The hotel manager said the men returned in the early hours of the morning, before waking up and reporting at around … [Read more...] about Mystery as cops claim Brit dad, 31, drank himself to death in Bangkok hotel despite ‘signs of a fight and safe ransacked’
THE father of the Strasbourg Christmas market gunman has revealed how he warned his obsessed son against supporting brutal ISIS. Abdelkrim Chekatt told French television that murderous Chérif believed the Islamic terror group was “fighting for a just cause”. The 29-year-old killed four people and seriously injured 12 others during his death spree on Tuesday night. He escaped after hijacking a taxi but was cornered by French cops and shot dead in the Neudorf area of the city following a two-day manhunt. His parents and two brothers were among seven arrested following the outrage, which sent shock waves throughout France. Prosecutors in Paris say they were later released due to the lack of incriminating evidence against them. Now Abdelkrim Chekatt has denied knowing his son - who he last saw just three days before the shootings - was plotting any kind of attack in his home city. “He’d say, for example, that Daesh (ISIS) is fighting for a just cause,” he … [Read more...] about Strasbourg Christmas market attacker Cherif Chekatt ‘supported ISIS’, claims his own dad
