The line-up for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival has been announced, with 112 films set to be screened in Park City, Utah. Unlike many other film festivals on the circuit, Sundance has unveiled a competition slate where 53% of the films have been directed by women. “We’re always going for parity, but because of the way we program, we’re looking for the films before we are who made them, so that kind of comes in the fine-tuning of the program, and it’s always amazing when it comes out that way,” said director of programming Kim Yutani. “This year, it was completely organic. DISCOUNT retailer Poundworld has called in administrators - putting 5,100 jobs at risk across the country. But what about Poundland? With such similar names people are confused, here's the lowdown... Is Poundworld going into administration? It certainly looks that way. An announcement was made at 10am on June 11 and the loss of almost 100 head office jobs was confirmed on June 19. The budget retailer appointed Deloitte to handle an administration after last-ditch rescue talks with R Capital broke down. On July 17 it emerged the company is to close a further 40 stores resulting in more than 500 redundancies. This was the third round of closures in July. It now means that 145 of the company's 335 shops will go by the end of July, leaving almost 1,800 workers without a job. So far 25 shops have already shut with 80 more set to close by Sunday July 22.
