Heat pumps

With blistering summer temperature around much of Europe, it may be hard to convince people to think about heat pumps . But a push for more renewable energy plus the ongoing war in Ukraine and the curtailing of Russian gas and oil means there has hardly been a more pressing time. A heat pump is a system that moves around thermal energy. There are a number of different types of devices based on what they use, including exhaust air, ground and water. Ground-source heat pump equipment taps into the nearly constant temperature below the soil's surface. These geothermal heat pumps draw heat into a building in winter and remove warm air in summer, acting like an air-conditioner. This type of system uses a network of water-filled pipes that are either laid horizontally a few feet underground or pipes drilled vertically much deeper into the Earth's core. Meghan Markle's father Thomas told reporters that he had dramatically hung up on Prince Harry during a heated phone discussion about the press. A picture of a bike blocking two seats on a train has sparked a heated debate online. The image shows the bicycle propped up against the two single seats near one of the train's doors while people can be seen standing up. The picture posted on Reddit was captioned: "Some people are just…" Some users were angered by the bike's positioning on the train. Others failed to see what all the fuss was about and some felt sympathy for the bike's owner. One person raged: "I’d just push it over and take a seat. I won't be wasting my breath on some imbecile that thinks this is an appropriate place to leave their bicycle. I don't have the patience for idiots anymore." Prince Harry and Meghan Markle threw themselves into their royal duties Wednesday, attending a special performance of the hit musical Hamilton in London, with the prince briefly treading the boards himself. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined Hamilton creator Lin Manuel-Miranda at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London for a charity performance of the Alexander Hamilton biographical. After the show, Harry took to the stage to address the audience and cast members, the BBC reported. One of the characters in the show is British King George III. While speaking to the audience after the show, Harry began to sing one of George III's songs—"You'll Be Back"—in which the monarch warns colonial rebels they will regret their uprising and "remember you belong to me." Meghan Markle's public family drama has a new character, Frederick Markle, the Duchess of Sussex's uncle, and brother of her father Thomas Markle. On Thursday, The Daily Mail released a newly unearthed photo of Frederick, who it said is a self-proclaimed Catholic bishop, dressed in an extravagant golden religious costume. The photo was believed to have been taken in the early 1980s, during a time when Frederick's Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church had at least 40 members. Last year, The Mail revealed that Frederick is head of a Catholic church at the edge of Sanford, Florida.
