Belly laughs, dazzling dancing, audience participation and a little bit of chaos, Southwick Players deliver everything you could want from a panto. Cinderella opened yesterday at the Barn Theatre in Southwick with both a matinee and an evening performance. It is great to see so many people involved, including two teams of young dancers, who are just delightful.From the minute Buttons, played by Dave Eccleshall, powers out Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now to open the show, you know you are going to be having a good time.There are a lot of laughs, a fair bit of traditional panto banter and plenty for the audience to get involved with.And there are plenty of great performances but Phoebe Cook as Dandini stands out a mile for her full-on enthusiasm from start to finish. A Luton woman suffered life changing injuries after being mown down by a car outside a Wales nightclub Best friends Emma Nicholls from Luton and Sophie Poole from Birmingham, were innocent bystanders when McCauley Cox ran them over following an earlier dispute with a separate group on April 28 this year.The two woman, aged 23, were seriously injured as they waited for a taxi outside the Courtyard NIghtclub in Newport.Today (Friday) they saw 19 years old Cox jailed for 12 years at a young offenders institute.In an impact statment the friends said: “This week has been a whirlwind of emotions for the both of us. The events that happened on the 28th April 2018 are not something that we take lightly. We had planned a night out in the city, like every girl our age does most weekends. Samantha Alderson, of Mickleton Close, Darlington, was arrested by police and charged with being drunk and disorderly in public.The 22-year-old had been staying at the Vauxhall Holiday Park, on Acle New Road, when the incident occured last month on September 18.She was seen by police throwing herself on the floor and rolling on the road at the Vauxhall roundabout.Appearing at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, Alderson pleaded guilty to the offence.Representing herself, she said: “I do not even remember what happened.“I was on holiday having a good time and had about five drinks, but I do not know how I got in that state.”Magistrates’ … [Read more...] about ‘I was on holiday having a good time’
