Greggs are stepping up to the plate when it comes to offering a cheap evening meal. The High Street bakery are rolling out £4 evening meal deals at 500 stores nationwide. Available from “Hot to Go” counters, the dinner-time selection includes southern fried chicken goujons and spicy BBQ chicken bites. The new evening menu and meal deal will be on offer along with new breakfast options too, reports BirminghamLive. The new takeaway option will be available until 9pm. From 4pm a meal deal comes in - so move over Boots, Sainsbury's, Tesco and other supermarket rivals. The meal deal has been launched by Greggs and is allowing you to pick up a hot dinner main, wedges and a drink for £4. For half that amount, you can get any pizza and drink for £2 after 4pm - or any hot sandwich, wedges and drink for £4. Greggs is to open 500 of its branches late into the evening and will be serving up meal deals from £2 to £4. Branches of the bakers will be open in High Streets across the UK until 9pm from the end of this week and will be offering hot evening meals to hungry diners. On the menu will be a hot dinner main meal or any hot sandwich, wedges and a drink for £4 or any pizza and drink for £2. The meals will be available after 4pm. A Greggs spokesman said: "The menu aims to satisfy those on-the-go at dinnertime, looking for value, convenience and of course, great taste." New hot-food counters are being installed to serve up the evening treats in venues including Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol and across the south west.
