A suburban Dallas man who evaded arrest for more than 12 years after being accused of fatally shooting his two teenage daughters in 2008 was convicted Tuesday in their killings. Yaser Said, 65, was found guilty of capital murder in the deaths of 18-year-old Amina Said and 17-year-old Sarah Said. Prosecutors did not pursue the death penalty, meaning Yaser Said receives an automatic life sentence. Prosecutor Lauren Black has said Said was "obsessed with possession and control." The sisters were found shot to death in a taxi parked near a hotel in the Dallas suburb of Irving on New Year's Day in 2008. Jurors heard a 911 call Sarah Said made by cellphone, telling the operator that her father had shot her and that she was dying. Sarah Said was shot nine times and Amina Said was shot twice. The 11-year-old girl who drowned at a Berkshire water park on Saturday during a birthday party has been named. Kyra Hill has been widely identified as the child who went missing on a Total Wipeout-style assault course at Liquid Leisure Windsor in Datchet. Emergency services including a helicopter, an ambulance and a search and rescue crew were called to the scene at about 3.55pm but medics were unable to save her. Witnesses say dozens of others jumped into the water to search for the girl after she got into difficulty. But Thames Valley Police say the youngster was only found an hour later, at around 5.10pm, before being rushed to Wexham Park hospital, where she died. Jennifer and Emily Parker officially adopted Jennifer's 5-year-old niece Zoey on August 3. The girl's father died in an industrial accident in 2020, KPLC reported.
