You're getting older and your body likes you less and less when you fill it with alcohol. The reason for this is because your body interprets alcohol as poison, Mental Floss reports. When you're younger, your liver has a much easier job to convert these chemicals into other chemicals that are easier to break down and eliminate from your body. And like the rest of your body, it gets worse at doing the things it's supposed to as you get older so your liver produces less of the enzymes and antioxidants that help metabolize alcohol, according to a study from South Korea.
