MAURA Higgins has taken a cheeky swipe at "basic" Dancing On Ice routines and claimed that the judges are overscoring. The Love Island star said that she was not impressed with the lacklustre performances this series. The 30-year-old also slammed the judges for deliberately scoring contestants highly despite their simple routines. The reality star appeared on the ITV skating show in 2020 paired with professional Alexander Demetriou . Maura vented: "The basic skating will get you a 9.5 this year." A number of fans agreed with the reality star, with one writing: "The scoring is bizarre! I think they're scoring based on the personality they like rather than the skating! It's been awful this year!" Another posted: "It's a joke this year, no atmosphere over scoring and the wrong skaters getting under scored." A third added: "Exactly what I was thinking so weird. Guest judge on dancing with the stars
THIS year’s Dancing on Ice semi-final will feature just 12 minutes of skating to fill a two-hour slot. The injury and illness-hit ITV show has just four celebrities left standing — former Olympian Colin Jackson , 54, rapper Lady Leshurr , 32, Faye Brookes, 33, and Capital DJ Sonny Jay, 27. Each of them will perform two 90-second routines as they vie for a place in the rescheduled finale a week on Sunday. It leaves producers with the unenviable task of spinning it out into two hours of prime-time telly. A source said: “With the reduced numbers, there’s going to be a lot of filling for time.” The show has been dogged by a spate of celebrity withdrawals — three with injuries and two following coronavirus infections. ITV bosses have already let the show take a week’s break to allow stars an extra seven days to recover from injuries and niggles. And the final has been brought forward by a week because there are too few stars left to eke out each show to … [Read more...] about Dancing on Ice crisis as semi-final will feature just 12 minutes of skating in two hour show
DANCING On Ice has been branded "a fix" by angry fans after Rebekah Vardy was sent home following a tense skate off with Lady Leshurr. The rapper scraped through to the semi final – but viewers thought neither Lady Leshurr or Rebekah should have been in the skate off. Both women made mistakes in the skate off and it lead to a split vote between judges John Barrowman and Ashley Banjo , with Jayne Torvill casting the deciding vote to send Rebekah, 39, home. The WAG admitted she wasn't ready to leave, as Lady Leshurr made it through to the semi-finals next week with fellow contestants Sonny Jay, Faye Brookes and Colin Jackson. Many viewers also wanted her to stay in the competition and said neither Rebekah or Lady Leshurr should have been in the skate off. They shared their frustration on Twitter, calling the decision "a fix". One said: "This show is a fix the judges have their favourites and Rebekah Faye and Lady Leshurr aren't in the running. #dancingonice" … [Read more...] about Dancing On Ice in fix row as Rebekah Vardy is sent home but Lady Leshurr stays

The 54-year-old Olympian is one of the last stars standing for this year's series of the controversial ITV show, which has seen several contestants drop out with injury. And during an appearance on Lorraine today he confessed that he hasn't escaped the Dancing On Ice curse completely - adding that he knew there could be "jeopardy" when he signed up. Host Lorraine Kelly asked Colin if he was covered in bruises, to which the star nodded. He went on: "I have got a couple of bruises, I can not deny that, but I guess when you sign up for the show you understand that could be potentially a bit of a jeopardy.
