For many Ukrainian families, the one thing they could not leave behind was their pets. Pictures have emerged of refugees carrying cats, dogs and birds as they rush to safety . But those animals that were abandoned roam the streets in search of food and love. One of these much-loved pets found me, while I was reporting in Ukraine, and I could not leave that dog behind. This is my story of how I came back from war with a friend for life, one who helped me cope with the reality of a warzone. Before I left Islington for Ukraine, I could have never imagined the experience. The stories of destruction I found are so devastating that I struggle to comprehend how this is happening in the 21st century. Genocide. War crimes. Invasion. Yet, when entering Ukraine back in February, … [Read more...] about ‘I went to war – and came back with a dog’

Moby slams Instagram trolls in text post regarding Natalie Portman
Musician Moby posted a message to his "trolls" on Instagram Thursday morning following backlash after Natalie Portman claimed they never dated. Moby, however, insisted they had a romantic relationship in 1999—albeit brief. Internet users were quick to jump on Portman's side after she negated claims from Moby that the pair had been romantically involved, calling him a "much older man being creepy." Moby's quick Instagram statement told negative commenters they're wasting their time with hate. The post, which was just simple black letters on a white screen read: "Dear trolls, I just don't know if hating a stranger is the best use of your one, short life." He also included a lengthy comment on the post, which held a similar message. "Dear trolls, While I'm flattered by the attention, I just don't know if the best use of your time and your life is hating a stranger based on egregiously limited information," he explained. "I mean, when you are on your deathbed do you really want to … [Read more...] about Moby slams Instagram trolls in text post regarding Natalie Portman
Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein says Trump is offering his supporters up as ‘sacrificial lambs’ at rallies
WATERGATE reporter Carl Bernstein branded Donald Trump a “homicidal president” and accused him of offering up his supporters as "sacrificial lambs" at rallies. Appearing on Anderson 360 Monday night, Bernstein said Trump was putting his supporters in danger by holding indoor rallies during the COVID-19 pandemic. “You're witnessing a homicidal president convening, purposefully, a homicidal assembly to help him get reelected instead of protecting the health and welfare of the United States, including supporters whose lives he is willing to sacrifice,” Bernstein said in a scathing interview. His comments came days after his Watergate reporter colleague Bob Woodward exposed Trump for intentionally downplaying the risks of the coronavirus. Bernstein, a former Washington Post journalist who, along with Woodward, reported about Nixon’s cover-up after infiltrating Democratic Party offices in the Watergate Hotel, did not hold back in his attack on Trump. “Here is this president, … [Read more...] about Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein says Trump is offering his supporters up as ‘sacrificial lambs’ at rallies
